Question for all PNW addicts. I'm building a basic map of destinations around KHQM. What are the top 3 airfields at max 1 hour (Kodiak, 206...) to point out on this map departing from Bowerman ? Objective is to give ideas of sightseeing flights en route or with a good addon at destination.

Three flight ideas I remember doing:

KHQM -> KAST (Astoria, OR). This one is fairly quick but scenic

KHQM -> KONP (Newport, OR). This one follows the coast all the way down to Newport. Very scenic and can be done in an hour in a faster GA plane. There are a few other smaller strips along the way if it's too long

KHQM -> KOLM (Olympia, WA). A short flight inland.

Thanks to all for your support! As an amateur/lonely dev, it's really appreciated!

For the sake of old Orbx memories: Friday Harbor, KFHR, now an enhanced default airport.

The above three are all among my favorites for sure but another one I have enjoyed is KCLM (William R. Fairchind Intl.) near Port Angeles, WA.

Those are good ones, one that i would like to add is Tillamook Airport (KTMK) in Oregon.  It also has an air museum at the airport.

And comes the time to challenge the Beta v1.0 scenery. Generally, it's also a moment you discover artefact: small elevation issue, blue sticks in the middle of taxiway, misplaced objects (not easily visible in the Scenery Editor), conflict with other addons (the Mamudesign Marinas for Bowerman), objects and textures you though were great in the Scenery Editor and looks awful in the build making you redo-redo and redo again. And here comes fix phase of many errors. The time of disillusion when the release date move slowly away 😉 No worries. It should be available this week.

PS: thank you all for your proposal of small hop around!

Anyone has access to data naming the holding points? The FAA official, nor the Foreflight diagram have it. The taxiway at threshold runway 6 seems to be A1. Does it goes A2, A3, A4 until taxiway at runway 24?

Maybe someone with a FSx/P3D running setup that could load the Orbx scenery and double check the name of taxiway (signs) ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the taxiways signs. I re watch and look for Youtube video that finally make me understood how the signs were labelled. And this ILS safe area as well.

Finally, to illustrate that sometimes, building an airport looks like an endless task: you get away from the fences, then the road, oh and this shore worth's a cleanup, and this bay also… etc…

Having the airport surrounds and environment treated with your expertise is also a huge benefit!  Thank you!

I can see I’m going to need to make a cross-country trip to shake out the new TBM 850 update and land at this amazing airport. Well done for again building such an amazing airport!

I love this airport was great in FSX.

Vincent  So glad you decided to do it for MSFS.

Nearby close to Mount St Helen's is Walter Suttons private airstrip and if I remember correctly there is a house by a lake nearby which has a fun short runway which would be a great candidate for your overhaul into MSFS. Orbx did it for FSX/P3d and it's a shame a few of their great little airports have not made it into MSFS.

Thanks again will be really looking forward to this one.

Oh yes, how I miss these!

Walter Sutton's, WA79, and Walter Musa, WA7M. Was great fun.

That's it Walter Musa! With Mount St Helen's and Rainer and Mount Hood nearby these little strips could be a perfect match.

Maybe Vincent could entertain the idea of possibly adding them at some stage but very looking forward to Bowerman.

Thank-you, Vincent.

Just did a circuit and it was like coming home!

I had KHQM as my default airport in P3D for years.

Having it in MSFS is a real treat.

Great job!
