So it becomes a fumbling two handed job, which if it’s the same on those jets may have delayed his actions just long enough to be discovered. 787 captain. Had he succeeded (the acft was close to cruise altitude), it would have been sporty, as the jet would start to depressurize, so you'd be doing loss of cabin pressure and dual engine failure/restart procedures (and fighting off a suicidal cockpit occupant) simultaneously. I just saw a news report he was on a hallucinogenic (psilocybin) at the time, that would explain him not being aggressive and his lapse of judgement, not sure how someone can get into a flight deck in that state of mind.
