What a disappointment. Taking this hype-to-result proportion onto the alleged A380 teaser it will probably end up being a static A380 pack for free or something like this.

From what they're saying on discord currently, this Dubai POI will remain free and be updated over time. They're also seriously hinting/joking about the full OMDB/DXB airport still to come likely as payware of course (whether than means those A380s shown recently are static components of that airport or also a preview of their in-development A380, who knows). And this is all outside of the A300 to be released soon and the secretly-in-development long-haul modern airbus (not A380) to be revealed soon. These guys are definitely masters of social engagement 🙂, and they seemed to have lined up a nice list of announcements for this week and next, and I'm here for it!

London controller have a special stream tomorrow he said yesterday  and his sponsor is Ini build,  they did the same with KLAX  they released a free addon with some landmarks  of the city days before and the airport they mentioned in summer  that coming at the end of the year  fit with  dubai  but is not confirm with one of the two airports

OMDB in the background of some of the A300 trailer shots has glass jetways, default OMDB does not have glass jetways.

If they do release OMDB, that’s a pass from me. Overwhelming majority in their Discord want a KATL with KDFW running second in requests. Zero interest in a payware airport that takes a minimum of 6+ hours to get there from anywhere decent.

I've seen the discussions on their discord and yes while there are many who'd prefer KATL/etc over DXB, it's not an overwhelming majority by any means.. there are also many of us who love these kinds of airports outside of North America and Europe, especially something like DXB/OMDB which is a major world hub connecting east and west, along with the city itself and its iconic landmarks. And with the coming collection of long haul aircraft for MSFS it's going to be a perfect fit, not to mention all the short/med-hauls one can do to/from there and the mideast, north & east africa, asia, south/east europe, etc.

That's true! Africa, Asia and the Middle East got soo many nice placed I'd love to fly to.
Unfortunately, I haven't found any very high quality airport scenery (like Flightbeam, FlyTampa, Pyreegue, Jetstream Designs, ...) around DXB within a 737-range yet..

Sure, FSDG got some very interesting destinations and FSDG makes good addons but I would consider them to be one level below the aforementioned Devs..
Maybe I'll give some of their destinations a try when they are on a 30 or 40% sale and if I have a decent 777...



Oh boy, Plate-Carrée-Projection can be misleading. Distances in Africa are insane!

OMDB to GOBD (Dakar) or to FACT Cape Town both 4100nm each (about 9-10hrs of flight?),
OMDB to Seychelles and Maldives 1700nm (4hrs?).

Still remains the issue that only in Europe VATSIM ATC schedules planned online times.
If I flew to those 8 destinations from Dubai, I will most likely have not a single human ATC to talk to  🙁

There's some good quality freeware OTHH, OERK and OKKK on flightsim.to if you want to do some short-ish hops

Overwhelming majority? It’s just the same few users that keep spamming those 2 airports in their discord… Not everyone wants to fly in the USA.

When compared to the potential routes to/from those interested in KATL, it’s not even close. KATL wins every time as far as long and short haul routes compared to OMDB.
