What can you do with a fighter jet in a game that doesnt allow weapon use and has absolutely no option for any kind of mission? Fly By's will get boring after half an hour i think....

Fly aircraft in an entirely different performance and handling class to anything else in existence for a start

I'm struggling to see how HB can deliver systems depth even close to DCS within the limitations of MSFS.

You could maybe follow the A2A route and model the systems in what is effectively their own sim outside MSFS and just render the results from that in the main sim ?

In terms of systems, it's always been possible with MSFS to pretty much do whatever a dev wants (use default systems, use the default systems and extend it, write custom systems within the sim framework, write custom systems running outside the sim i.e. Fenix, etc). I'd say pretty much all the high fidelity 3rd party aircraft for MSFS either do default + extensions or have their own custom systems. In terms of the FM, AFAIK only A2A models theirs external of the core sim FDE whereas the likes of Fenix/PMDG/FSReborn/FSW/etc all build their FM on top of the core FDE.

Even they moved to DCS. lol

I see your point but my opinion is that DCS is just the better platform for "military" aviation.

You could literally use that line of thinking with everything in a civilian simulator if you want to just be a contrarian. You can fly after pre-programmed waypoints. And then? Do a fake commercial flight with autopilot enabled. And then? Do a VFR flight around some canyons. And then?

Sure, but i have at least the option to "generate" some kind of mission. Its not meant to be just contrarian but i just see no point in flying a military aircraft when you cant actually fly "military" and are forced to do things with it a fighter which it is not designed to do.

Can carrier starts and landing be done? (Is the carrier included?) and air to air refueling?
is the loudout (no weapons but fuel pods) configurable?

the carrier is a separate product by IndiaFoxtEcho

You seem to be skipping the fact that almost all military flights that take place in the real world aren't combat missions.

👍 Train, train, train …. for the day when all the training and practice really counts!

I’ll buy it if the controls of this aircraft are like in DCS and they will make a flyby-tower camera
