More info on the Cessna 207 StationAir coming as a local legend on or around the 12th of December.  There was only a short segment on it, so easy to miss it.  I like the fabric door.  For skydivers is it?  Anyway, it looks really nice inside and out.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yup, and it’s been forgotten about too. At least that’s the impression I get, it’s certainly not talked about anymore.

Or there's nothing they can do about it. Height data is all streamed from the severs, it's not stored locally, it would be massive.

PILOT'S FS Global Ultimate mesh covers the entire globe for 80 GB.

That's for up to 1m resolution in parts of the world, which AFAIK, MSFS doesn't do.

exactly, 80GB is a lot.

It’s happened in FSX too, and that wasn’t streamed.

My FS install with addons is over 250GB. 80GB these days is not a lot. If they said it was an extra 80GB to eliminate terrain morphing, I’m in.

Not really. Yet for anyone that finds it problematic, you could in theory have mesh split by continent, by region, or by country, installing only what you want/need.

For example:

XPlane does this, you can install only certain continents.

I thought people reported custom meshes in MSFS morphed less?

They still morph.

No morphing with x-plane, Aerofly and DCS AFAIR.  All my GA flying IRL in my early days happend at Alps airports. Morphing terrain looks like continous rockfall!!!

And their sceneries suck anyway. MSFS is morphing because it is trying to get things to the next level but having some difficulty. Hopefully Asobo will be able to figure something out by SU15.

My favorite thing from the Q&A was hearing Seb acknowledge that live weather clouds are indeed too transparent and also hearing him confirm something many of us have suspected: The MSFS engine is capable of handling better looking clouds without taking a massive performance hit. It isn't like the FSX days where a storm would turn the sim into a slideshow, and it isn't like the situation with XP12's engine where LR cannot crank up the resolution of their clouds without a big optimization overhaul. So I do hope Asobo will leverage the strengths of their engine and give us much better looking clouds!

What's was FSX and Prepared excuse then? They've morphed for decades and it just transferred over to MSFS.

They really don't. Head over to the XP forum and check out TonyWob post. Tell me those pics suck.
