The snow layer and vegetation colours works really well with ortho imagery once they're configured correctly for seasons, and if real weather is enabled the conditions and snow cover change as flying around.

I rest my case.

The clouds still look blurry in XP 12. It's like when you wear someone else's glasses that don't fit your vision.

You never really had one to rest.

I believe he was talking about scenery, and that it 'sucked'. It doesn't look like it sucks to me. Sure you can pick it apart, just like we can with any sim. That wasn't the point. The point is, it doesn't 'suck.'

Yup. The lower resolution makes them easy to identify but i must say I really like how  XP12's high level clouds are depicted compared to MSFS. They look a lot more convincing but MSFS can get there if they just fix the opacity! I really hope they take this seriously and I REALLY hope the issue isn't repeated in 2024 live weather!

I can indeed rest my case because Tony pointed out that he is using third party add-ons to make his scenery not suck. Obviously if I am making a comparison I will do it default vs default and not default vs ortho4XP or Auto Ortho since that wouldn't make sense in the context of what we are discussing.

You're expecting a positive comment from abrams and krakin?

Only an act of God will make that happen.

Yup, I should have known better.

Ahhhh you mean like mesh add-ons in MSFS to stop the morphing and stop it from sucking? Gotcha.... All about the context.

Sadly, it never requires an act of God for you to hop onto a MSFS thread and make a complete fool of yourself

Even worse, you've dragged @Ianrivaldosmith into the pig pen with you smh.

I didn't even know those existed. I want Asobo to fix the issue so that we won't have to rely on external fixes to put a band-aid on it. I'm not trying to pass those mesh add-ons off as default and I'm not trying to pretend the issue does not exist just because just because they are available.

The Orbx meshes, such as for New Zealand, did help, but it still did not solve the morphing issue completely.
Orbx know how to make morphing slightly better using a slightly different data type apparently, but the proper fix needs to be done in the sim and the algorithm they use.

The Orbx NZ mesh has had to be removed now anyway as it clashes with the Asobo NZ world update and a few other items (Milford Sound etc.).

I made a fool of myself when stating a fact?

Forums are for discussion.  Saying I make a fool out of myself just because you disagree with me is hardly conducive to a discussion.

My favorite thing from the Q&A was hearing Seb acknowledge that live weather clouds are indeed too transparent and also hearing him confirm something many of us have suspected: The MSFS engine is capable of handling better looking clouds without taking a massive performance hit. It isn't like the FSX days where a storm would turn the sim into a slideshow, and it isn't like the situation with XP12's engine where LR cannot crank up the resolution of their clouds without a big optimization overhaul. So I do hope Asobo will leverage the strengths of their engine and give us much better looking clouds!

It's great he finally acknowledged it, but SU5 was released on the 27th July 2021, so almost two and a half years later, sad considering it was one of the very first things picked up and reported on the official site at the time.

So yeah, great we might get a fix in SU15 or thereafter, but this should've been noted and sorted literally years ago.

So do I, but in the meantime that part of the scenery ‘sucks’, because it’s an awful feature of it.
