MSFS Adaptive LOD

Has anyone noticed that after decent LOD value does not decrease to the minimum set (0:0.5 in my setup) and stays at 1 when taxing at airport.

Yes, I noticed this too and it is because after landing, AGL is not always at 0 (zero) but hangs at 5 or 7 or so.

I read somewhere to not remove the 0 AGL line, so to overcome this, I added an extra entry like 20:0.5. Seems to work fine 🙂

A small question that still interests me.
The tool changes something in the MSFS file system. Does it only work from outside?
Are files in MSFS changed? No modifications are made to the MSFS files. This means that if I don't use the tool, MSFS is untouched.

Even worse: it modifies the MSFS Memory at Runtime. That is why you should not use it.

So and you two Think that I would not know this? Sad.

The Thing is: Minimum LOD is always active, even with FPS Adaption disabled. Will be changed 😉

Doesn't FsCaptain do likewise? Yet without the outcry and doom warnings?

I have noted that the program does not read the height above ground as the game, for example, if I fly at 2000 feet, the program reads the height as 1600 feet and the difference gets bigger the higher I fly, it is not a big problem then I can compensate for it in the settings.

It reads 'height above ground level' rather than height above sea level (altitude). Which is correct for this application.

ok what I've recognised is that mine only drops to 0.5 when I'm at at airport that is demanding on FPS,  mine doesn't drop to 0.5 at a small runway but at a city airport it does

So that means if I take off from a place at high altitude I have to compensate for that in the program?

Now I understand 😄

adding to that, if the game does crash for some reason, restarting the game solves the problem

Occasionally when doing lots of alterations to the TLOD levels whilst in a flight, at the end of the flight it won't load back to the menu so I have to kill FS2020 in task manager.  Apart from that it's ver very stable

The opposite. If it read altitude instead and, say, you were on the ground at LEMD you will probably already be one step up in the LOD profile.
