I suspect so too.

First beta the memory loading pauses I got were gone. Second beta they were back.

I didn't notice any performance regression in the previous patch.

I am using FG and my performance went from 60fps to mid 30's.

I hope they have rectified the very obvious performance regression noticeable in the last one.

This is with the last beta update just released: My performance is down. I used to get 85-105 in my standard test flight. Now 65-85  fps. About 25% decrease in performance.

==>Also, all H breaks loose when you increase the sim rate. The sim goes crazy, and reducing the sim rate back down does not help. For one thing the power throttle doesn't work and fps went down to 1 fps. This only happens when I start changing the sim rate.

I just reinstalled my sim, a bit anxious to apply this new build. How big is it btw?

about 96.6mb. lightweight. Steam had the bulk of it I think

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Remember the advice of MS: Don't revert back to the non beta if your installation is in the default location. (I would never leave MSFS in the default location for more than one reason).

It took me less than 3 minutes to move it using cut and past. (Copy and paste would take a very long time). I only moved it once, I think 3 years ago. It's still where I moved it.

I created C:/msfs2020 folder and put it there. Any place you create that isn't the default will work just as well. (I also put Addon Linker in a folder inside C:/msfs2020).

Been fighting with MSFS since updating beta. Argh. Can't load into PHNL in the A300. Empty community folder is fine. Something has changed in this build that causes some compatibility issue with some addon. I just have figure out which one...

Could you please elaborate on what to move? I did this some 5 betas ago but I’ve forgotten

Also, just learned of a method to fastcopy stuff:

https://youtu.be/jkfZoH7QHhs?si=AHpl_La-A5LopnxI

Can be used in explorer, or command prompt.

E.g.

c:\fastcopy>fastcopy /command=diff /open_window c:\msfs /to=e:\msfs

The folders named Community and Official, and everything in them, need to be moved (both moved to be inside the same folder). Creating a folder with a short path,  such as C:/Something would be easy to verify as correct at the bottom of the "Searching For Updates" the next time MSFS boots up. Let's say it's not correct and is an empty folder, then MSFS will update by downloading the entire sim because it thinks you have nothing on your hardrive that should be in Official folder.

I chose C:/msfs2020/Community for my new path to Community.

And C:/msfs2020/Official for my new path to Official.

Thus, as required, both Community and Official are in the same folder (msfs2020)

Let's say I have the power and authority in my city. And I want to move my house to a different address in town, from Oak Street to Elm Street. One way would be to hire people to reproduce my house and everything in it over on Elm Street and then tear down my old house (copy and paste. physically moving everything).

Another way is to just leave the house and furnishings where it already is and change the street sign from Oak to Elm. (cut and paste is just changing the address (the path). Much easier and faster.

Almost the same here, only msfs instead of msfs2020. So, with this, should I be all set?

C:/msfs/Community

C:/msfs/Official

Lol, someone (official beta forum) had some "fun" with default ATC after updating the beta:

I've done the WILLO transition a number of times, but I've never been this creative with altitudes 😅

Yes, that's perfect.

I’m seeing lots of reports that LOD distances have been severely downgraded in the latest beta build?

What are people’s experiences with this?

I really hope not, they have done lots of downgrading the sim graphically with Sim Updates and I was really hoping it wouldn’t happen again. I’m sure it’s just because people complain about performance and stutters whilst running inappropriate settings.
