Please follow the steps outlined in the readme in order, as follows: If after installing and running the app your simconnect always stays red, your TLOD and OLOD values show as zero or you see "Critical Exception occurred: MSFS_AutoFPS - Unable to load DLL 'GpuzShMem.x64.dll' or one of its dependencies" in the log file: Try reinstalling the app with the "Install Latest Redistributable" options selected. If any of the redistributables fail to install during this process, try downloading and installing/repairing (as applicable): A Microsoft official version of “Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable”, which may be missing from your Windows installation. Try installing this and this. The NET desktop runtime from here if still available. Alternatively, go to the Micrsoft .NET 8.0 download page here and download and install the latest .NET Desktop Runtime X64 version. If still not resolved and the error code in your AutoFPS log file is Exception 31, you most likely have a corrupt MSFS WASM installation. First, try deleting the MSFS WASM folder, located under the Microsoft Flight Simulator directory in either %appdata% or %localappdata% for Steam and MS Store install directories respectively, which will rebuild when you next run MSFS. If that doesn't fix it, a full clean reinstall of MSFS will be required, which can be done in less than 15 minutes for MSFS 2024 but may take many hours for MSFS 2020. If reinstalling MSFS 2024, you need to do a clean install, as outlined for your MSFS version here. Ensure you backup/relocate your Community folder BEFORE you do this, then put it back when the reinstallation is complete. All your settings, controller assignments, career progression and your pilot profile are retained. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

September 9, 2025Sep 9 I had the same question: I believe what he is asking is “If using the MSFS Dynamic Setting, should we uncheck Auto LOD so they don’t conflict?”. If Auto LOD is left checked is there any benefit or will it compete/interfere with MSFS’s Dynamic setting?

Can someone explain how the two work together?

While I haven't yet tried all different modes extensively with the app's new hybrid dynamic settings capability, I have not yet found any notable conflict having dynamic settings turned on and any other AutoFPS configuration. I thought it may fight with TLOD extra settings in particular, but those seem to play very nicely together. From what I have observed, on the reduction side dynamic settings provides the rapid response to any temporal performance drops and if they are sustained then AutoFPS moves the LOD floor lower. On the increase side, dynamic settings basically sits back and lets AutoFPS increase the LOD ceiling as it sees fit. As such, and particularly given this is in the expermental phase, I suggest you just give it a go with how you normally like to use AutoFPS and report back your findings here, good and bad. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
September 9, 2025Sep 9 OK folks, I need a clarification. I use Virtual Desktop. I set it to 80Hz with fulltime SSW. So first, in the sim for both max framerate and dynamic settings, do I put 40 or 80 in those two in-sim places? Then, in AutoFPS, do I put 40 or 80 for the desired framerate. Thanks in advance for helping me figure out what to put in those three places :-). Thanks in advance for helping me figure out what to put in those three places :-). Rob That's an easy one to answer, as I use VD set to 80Hz SSW too! I set 40 for dynamic settings, I don't set max frame rate (because VD SSW does that for you), and 40 for AutoFPS target VR FPS. Also, make sure you set ExperimentalFeatures to true in the root directory common config file. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

Thanks! Will do! I have kept it off thinking it might interfere, but I’ll try it with it enabled. I’m in the Beta currently, so trying not to introduce too many external variables all at once. I didn’t know from a technical level if you had observed anything.
