MSFS Auto FPS App

Hi, having an issue with this wonderful little app that has kept my rig alive for longer than I ever thougt.

Currently, running latest AutoFPS version, MSFS2020 SU16 beta (1.39.9.0), even if I think this problem was happening before already. My computer takes a big hit with clouds, especially with overcast. Therefore, I am very interested to use the option to decrease cloud quality, triggered by GPU load (don't want to use TLOD trigger as the drop in FPS seems to be due to cloud mainly, even with the lowest TLOD I still have a drop in FPS). Anyway, with GPU-Z installed, and clouds in ultra at the start, it seems that AutoFPS never decreases cloud quality, no matter the GPU load or the FPS. I set a scenario with plenty of clouds and the GPU load skyrockets, but clouds stay at ultra. I played with the % load for activation and it does not change anything. Even above 98%, no change, clouds stay in ultra.

I attached 2 screenshots. Any idea what I may be doing wrong? I read the instructions but did not find any solution.

I am able to reproduce the issue, so I will look at it tomorrow when I am back on my Dev PC.

Since there are a few of you experiencing this issue, which I am not able to replicate at this time, it would be helpful if you personal message me the copy and pasted contents of your latest log file (you cant' just attach the file here unfortunately), located in %appdata%\MSFS_AutoFPS\log, associated with it happening and I will take a look.  Any additional commentary you can provide will also be helpful.

First of all, thank you very much for this amazing app, and i apologize for the late response. Unfortunately, the issue still exists in version 0.4.5.3-test4. I minimized and fully focused the window multiple times to make the problem easier to address. I'm sending you the log via DM.

I am having an issue with test4. The updater doesn't work, it just sits there saying with "Deleting old MSFS_AutoFPS Version..." and nothing happens.

Ditto. Actually program window says "test 4"

But I'm really surprised it took this long to finally happen.

Thanks for the heads up everyone. MS hinted that they were adding some new settings so that has probably reshuffled the memory map a bit. I am taking a look now and hope to have a fix ASAP.

The installer part hasn't changed for many test versions, so it shouldn't be that. Try manually deleting the subfolder %appdata%\MSFS_AutoFPS\bin then run the installer again.

Just to make sure we are all seeing the same thing, my app looks like this with 1.5.21.0:

image.png?ex=688bcffc&is=688a7e7c&hm=b83

Are others seeing the same thing too?

This actually means that the primary compatibility test, which controls core TLOD and OLOD automation, passed and therefore this functionality still works but that the secondary compatibility test failed, which means that auto settings reduction is disabled.

In other words, the app will still work as normal just without auto settings reduction working, so you should be able to keep using it for now. I plan to have a fix shortly.

Yes that's what I'm getting.
