Must be many brown eyed people on Discord, because there are dozens of complaints on the PFD and ND brightness. 😏

Good to know its not just us few here.

I’m finding the displays to be a bit dark even on full brightness during the day. The previous version they where to bright.

Could be the eye color of the user. People with blue or hazel eyes can see much better in low light conditions. People with brown eyes need much more light. Anton Petrov did a video on this research recently. Conversely, brown eyed people can handle bright, sunny conditions better.

My eyes are probably the darkest shade of brown, and Bob's screen was perfectly lit for daytime on my monitor and I could see the top row of the PFD even while it was thumbnailed for the forum size. Though when real world flying I always keep the screens at their lowest brightness so maybe I'm used to it or something.

Come on guys, is this a joke?  The eye colour thing makes a miniscule difference, and doesn't account for the difference in brightness quite a few are seeing here between this and the last version.

Brightness is subjective obviously (I have my monitor turned right down in the evening), but this isn't about what an individual prefers, it is about what has changed, and it might not be affecting everyone.

It must be either a setting in sim that people have set differently, or some third party software or mod interacting with the screen.

The “joke” is that it is not a new or exclusive issue of the B2 version either.

I had no issue previous build. FYI they fixed the brightness from 2022...

So there is a great chance for Fenix guys to fix it again, any time soon.
Good for you.

If the displays in the real aircraft are typically used at less than max, then the max level would I guess be brighter than ideal / optimum.

Thus, the current brightness level in Fenix Block2 is really not very bright at all for a Max level.   When I first saw the displays I thought "ah, they must be set at mid... I'll turn them up".    That's when I realised that these low lit displays were on max 😶

I love the aircraft and it doesn't ruin the fun for me.   But I would definitely enjoy it more if I could just increase the brightness, by about 15%.

If people do see different levels of brightness, according to the different monitors we all use, then a useful option would be to have a higher max brightness.   Those who don't need that increase could set the displays lower (and they could be state persistent).

I personally think this needs a little tweak, to make an awesome addon, almost perfect.

Brown eyes here, I found the old fenix displays far too bright in all phases, now they are just right.  I really hope they dont change them again.  The real a320 has somewhat dim displays too compared to other aircraft.  Both a330 driver and v1simulations have said they look more realistic now.

The overall panel for B2 is definitely darker than B1. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the eye adaptation thing in MSFS. Hopefully, they can brighten it a bit at some point in the near future.

When it is too bright, the pilot can always turn it down. When it is dim, and the adjustment is at max, which it is in B2,  not much can be done about it.

BTW you can read the top line on the PFD?

Yep, in your screenshot, no issue. I've got brown eyes and I'm myopic af.

  Funny.

While I can read the top line as well, it does seem a bit dim if that is on maximum brightness.

Definitely the eye adaption on or off, and HDR / SDR setting between different users doesn't help in gauging where the brightness actually sits.

I glanced into the flightdeck of a Jet2 A321 recently while I was boarding and the pilots were setting up.  The screens looked very bright indeed, very emissive.
They may have been turned up to the top setting, but they were much brighter than Bob's top setting.

Like has been said, why can't Fenix just brighten them up a bit.
They can always be turned down, but they can't go up any more it seems.
That would be suitable for more people wouldn't it?  (You can never please everyone as we know).

Well I guess you can please some of the people some of the time….

I didn’t notice that displays were too dark. But I probably will now 😉

Adjusting the brightness, so that the control is always set on max brightness is like buying an audio system, and in order to hear it, you have to turn the volume all they way to it's max. If it isn't loud enough for  you then, tough.   😏
