March 16, 20242 yr BTW, just finished first flight after update. Parallel to Fenix I updated FS, haven't even read the changelog so have no clue what was done. However, I have to say that I never had smoother flight. Whatever was done on both sides it works fantastic...Also at the same time I updated NVIDIA driver.....Hopefully I want jinx it... 🙂 Alex

I've never had any issues w/ performance w/ the new update. Neither the last one (not sure if they've tweaked performance - haven't gone through the changelog TBH). .... Btw I just did (possibly!) my hardest landing so far trying to squeeze a fully loaded aircraft into a 1347m/4419ft Rwy (NZNS). As I was above MLW upon arrival to my destination, I needed to burn off some fuel. Hence I did a few holding patterns, climbed from 4000ft to FL350, took a detour to NZCH Christchurch 135nm away, then another holding pattern. According to the Fenix landing performance calculator landing distance required still exceeded available landing distance (1347m) by more than 100 meters. As I was down to 3000kg of fuel I decided to try to squeeze the bird in anyway! 1st mistake: exceeded speed limit upon flaps extension 2nd mistake: completely forgot to flare! 🙄 Lesson learned (again). Btw I had plenty of Rwy left as I came to a full stop. Edited March 16, 20242 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
March 16, 20242 yr Hi folks. Just tried my first flight in the A320. Got a "DXGI Error Device" CTD. This is the first CTD I've had. No issues with other airplanes. I'm not in MSFS beta so I'm using the most current (stable) version of MSFS and my graphic drivers are all up to date. Thanks. A. March 16, 20242 yr I'm testing the new B2 and I find it very good, but the Fenix app is asking me to login again after about 4 starts, this is very annoying. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
March 16, 20242 yr For those who have the toliss, how do you buy them in flight model, physics, FBW and so on?

When the PF calls for the next stage of flaps, the PM checks that the speed is below the permissible extension speed, then calls "speed checked, flaps N" and extends the flaps.

Is that Saul Goodman calling you out for your landing? 😄 For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
March 16, 20242 yr @Cpt_Piett You do know that manual breaking is an option? And that switching the AT off, will also give some extra space to land? I redid that calculation of yours into NZNS with your weights and the same weather and with MAX Manual breaking, ATHR off and Reversers full and get a landing distance of 1071 meters. So about 250 meters left.

So about 250 meters left. Excellent advice! Forgot about manual braking. Didn't think the A320 could land in such a short distance close to MLW to be honest. Well this opens up new opportunities for landing at various Norwegian airports 😁 Perhaps I'll even be able to squeeze her into ENSD (970m) - stunning approach. Currently en route Linate, just did a calc with estimated LW. Max manual braking & AT off gives me a 407m longer LDR vs med brake & AT on. LDR only 1090 w/ predicted LW of 63.7. 2 hours ago, Fiorentoni said: Is that Saul Goodman calling you out for your landing? 😄 😅 2 hours ago, martinboehme said: In case you're not aware: The maximum speed for the next stage of flaps is displayed on the speed tape as an orange "=" symbol. I know, honestly I don't think it's happened before except in my newbie days. Yeah, right I can hear you all thinking, lol. Having re-seen the video, I think I got flustered as I was in external view for the sake of the video, then as I returned to the flight deck the aircraft started to dive down. I went gear down, spoilers, flaps2 immediately to try to counteract the speed increase. Just re-tried FS2Crew again (almost haven't used it all since I got it in nov '22). And quickly concluded that, no, I can't use it. On my current flight I hit the "kill switch" so got rid of the interface - but I'm still stuck with an eerie FO!! 😱 I want him out of my flight deck! It will only get interesting for the turnaround. You can forget 30 minutes of turnaround after a manual max breaking landing. Edited March 16, 20242 yr by Farlis

Got plenty of time until I arrive in Linate (just passing DVR now). If I departed from nearby ENAL, bringing only 1000kg extra fuel, it's almost doable. Those who have flown in there (I have many times in GA, nothing larger than the King Air though), you'll appreciate the sudden drop into the fjord at either end of the runway... What do you think @Farlis, should I try it? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Not a big deal but it could be nice to have.....When you open cockpit windows we should be able to hear outside noises i.e. trucks, other planes, wind and also engine start up. Would be nice if that is possible to add to the wish list.... 🙂 12 hours ago, Cpt_Piett said: I thought the sound changed upon opening the window? Not sure if that can be done in MSFS but would be very nice... Hmm, the way you're describing this is like there is no sound change when you open the window. As Captain Piett said, there is. But like other aircraft in MSFS it's a canned external ambience sound. So you're right that you won't hear the specific sound sources (like the APU or hydraulic pumps). I think it's still quite immersive, but hearing the actual sound sources at that time would indeed be great. As you said, I'm not sure it's possible in MSFS.
