JustFlight has provided an update regarding their Avro RJ series.

Of particular note (for me) was this paragraph:

This means the RJ Professional will release with a feature set including, but not limited to: automatic cabin crew simulation, boarding simulation, failures, paper charts and checklists, state saving, Simbrief integration, and Navigraph charts support. We developed a lot of these features to be modular so it allows us to integrate them into other aircraft with relative ease, and that has certainly worked well here. All of these features, plus some additional ones that we haven’t announced yet, will make the RJ Professional our most feature rich aircraft yet!

Should be a good one.  I've having a second wind on the -146 with the latest update, it will be nice to have the RJ to choose form as well with a bit more automation etc (I think that's the main difference?)

I used to like the (fictional) BEA Red Square colour scheme for the Avro RJ70.....

Yes, the RJ brings integrated VNAV but more starkly (in my opinion) brings the vast increase in situational awareness afforded by the EFIS.   (The lack of a navigation display on the 146 is the main point that prevents me from enjoying it - that's no criticism of the product as it's realistic.  The tiny map that appears in the radar screen is non-adjustable and doesn't help much).

With the RJ, we'll have all the fun of the 4 engined Jumbolino but with decent RNAV, VNAV and situational awareness through the EFIS.   The RJs use the same Honeywell MCP as older 737NGs.

 

....then of course there's AUTOTHROTTLE! 😉

Excellent, it will be fun to have the RJ for a bit of an easier experience and the -146 for more of a hands on challenge.
