Maybe already mentioned in this topic, but for a long time I was hoping for clouds visually represented like this (and that was 7 years ago!) :

Well I hope we never go back to that old stuff including the graphics.... so funny.... But hey start P3D/FSX up and download the 2d clouds and AS 😉

It's very popular to hate me and Active Sky, and by extension, those who support me, our development team or the product.  I've mentioned (harped on) this before but that's also generated criticism so

I just watched that.  I was pretty surprised that his main critique of AS wx depictions was that the clouds were too flat, and lacked vertical development compared to MSFS.   This surprised me be

Has hifi fixed the fps drop flying through dense clouds? Storm.

I am getting some pauses and fps drop flying through it.

Clouds on ultra on high end system.

Never had an issue with. Msfs live weather.

Thanks

Works fine here. No fps drops when I monitor vram and fps on 3080ti.

Same - I also get FPS drop and stutters with heavy weather. Been using default live weather for the last couple of weeks because of that.

Hopefully it gets addressed by HI-FI

That's great news as I prefer using ASFS.

Where did you see that on their forums, I looked this morning and saw no mention of that, unless I missed it?

Maybe this?

https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/early-test-update-b9074-updated.15353/

- Adjusted cirrus generation to prevent too high coverage and too many cirrus layers in some cases (was also possibly causing reduced performance)

I have been flying these days in 2024 with bad weather in the Iberian Peninsula and I have noticed that the turbulence remains the same as in 2020. It is not normal to go through a storm cloud with a cessna 172 and that it is absolutely the same.

How does this addon behave with turbulence in general or should I buy realturb?

I get little or no cloud turbulence with Active Sky. Better with RealTurb

As @Cpt_Piett answered above, start with the inexpensive RealTurb v2, and keep default weather for a start.

You can later add ActiveSky.

You will get nice turb effects under various conditions, although NOT like in XP12.

My POV regarding this is that IRL I wouldn't risk crossing a CB anyway, so... 🙂

I have tried the realturb demo and it is an improvement overall, with active Sky would it improve more then or in turbulence issues do they overlap ?

They overlap except for terrain turbulence which AS does not have
