It's very popular to hate me and Active Sky, and by extension, those who support me, our development team or the product.  I've mentioned (harped on) this before but that's also generated criticism so

I just watched that.  I was pretty surprised that his main critique of AS wx depictions was that the clouds were too flat, and lacked vertical development compared to MSFS.   This surprised me be

The beta that's been out a while and then became the latest stable build was 8888.

I was looking for the "Stable version"  Mine works great now, I think I will just stick with it.

Maybe already mentioned in this topic, but for a long time I was hoping for clouds visually represented like this (and that was 7 years ago!) :

MS FS 2020/2024 | 9800X3D  | 64GB DDR5 6000mhz |  ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX 5090 32GB GDDR7 OC EDITION   | Varjo Aero | Navigraph | VATSIM | TPR Pedals | Virpil  | Honeycomb | Winwing FCU + EFIS | Behringer X Touch Mini | SPAD.next

Has anyone had any issues with Live METAR with the latest beta build?

The current ATIS at OKKK is from 230930Z but the latest in the app is 230900Z and the conditions are completely different. I've tried refreshing and closing and restarting the app but its still showing the old METAR. Is there a setting I'm missing here?

Edit: It updated at the latest METAR, so it seemed to skip the 30min interval for some reason.

FSX used a completely different technology to display clouds than MSFS uses. Active Sky cannot use the same techniques to place clouds in MSFS that it used in earlier sims.

30 minutes does not mean at 00 and 30. It means 30 minutes between. What if the last update / request for METARs occurred at 0928z? It would not get the current METAR until the next request at 0958z.
Set the interval to 15 minutes if you want more up to date conditions.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I already thought so. But my hopes were that with current technology same could be accomplished. Apparently not so sadly.

I think you've misunderstood. The current (at the time) METAR on Vatsim, Windy and metar-taf.com were all correct and were showing 230930Z, the METAR on ActiveSky was still showing the previous at 230900Z so the conditions at the airport were not in real time. Nothing to do with my settings as the interval hasn't been touched since your advice last week 👍

Also, the shimmering I reported in the clouds on the horizon and the cloud quality in general was totally fixed by switching off DLSS and going back to TAA. Just an FYI for anyone else experiencing the same.
