May 29, 20242 yr Filou convinced me to give this a whirl and went first to Flightsim.to and downloaded their copy. I installed it, and it tells me the version is expired and directs me to Github. I download its latest version and it's asking for payment and this is the first I've heard you have to pay monthly or yearly to use it, whereas I'm sure I read it is/was free. Also, apparently there is a watermark w/ Google on it and there is a 'Bing' version that doesn't have the watermark: 1. Where to get the Bing version? 2. Is it still possible to try it for free? The interface to pay scared me a bit! These are the ones I keep using and in my opinion are better than Google Maps. The current version (Github) is v7.6.0 Edited May 29, 20242 yr by edpatino Cheers, Ed MSFS2020 Steam // Rig: Corsair Graphite 760T Full Tower - ASUS MBoard Maximus XII Hero Z490 - CPU Intel i9-10900K - 64GB RAM - MSI RTX2080 Super 8GB - [1xNVMe M.2 1TB + 1xNVMe M.2 2TB (Samsung)] + [1xSSD 1TB + 1xSSD 2TB (Crucial)] + [1xSSD 1TB (Samsung)] + 1 HDD Seagate 2TB + 1 HDD Seagate External 4TB - Monitor LG 29UC97C UWHD Curved - PSU Corsair RM1000x // Thrustmaster FCS & MS XBOX Controllers

The Bing maps are a map option in the Enhancement tool, there isn't a separate version of the program. 2. It is free to use, but certain map options require a purchase. Google maps do have watermarks, but are more or less invisible when you are flying - my brain filters them out. also, Google maps are strangely coloured in city areas - too bright and saturated textures. All the map options are just like MSFS default, good in some areas and poor in others. Overall I like Bing Latest & Apple Maps. I have been using Google maps, no issues , no water marks, for over a year at least. Do the new Bing maps have green roads?

The interface to pay scared me a bit! Thanks in advance You only have to pay for the "Google Map Server Pro". Above the START button is a drop down menu, select "Bing Maps (Latest). Go to settings and create a cache file, set the cache to 50. Go to "Map Options" and tick "High LOD Enabled". In "Start Options" I only have "Start MSFS on mod start" ticked, it's up to you what other options you want. Click "START" and away you go. P.S. Don't forget to empty both Data and Photogrammetry cache's after your flight. You can use photogrammetry off or on. When you use this software always start it before MSFS and leave the page open when you use MSFS. This software presents an undeniable advantage for a much more realistic approach in its overall rendering. When you use it all the time like me and you go back to MSFS by default, you immediately understand the difference. Impossible to fly without 1) Bing Maps Latest free (Always restart the MSFS after any change to this page during the flight ) Google option brings too many differences between the photorealistic tiles, London, Hamburg, Brussels etc. are not very beautiful. I find the Bing option (Latest) very balanced .You will rediscover MFS in an aspect you have never seen before... I hope MSFS2024 will be an even higher level. Everything is not perfect but neither is MSFS by default... your latest photos clearly demonstrate this. 2) High LOD Enabled 3) Ground brightness, -15 for my preference. (Always restart the flight after any change to this page but it's better restart the MSFS ) The 3 colors don't matter much, brightness is my favorite. Try what suits you best. 4) Cahe Options
May 29, 20242 yr I paid for a month of PRO and tried them all out and screenshotted and compared. It was like $5 or $10 or something, why not do that ? May 30, 20242 yr Just tried this mod for the first time Using new Bing maps and high LOD Tried it out and seems like i have maybe have stumbled into the MSFS 2024 beta.. Flew over the Canadian Rockies and was completely blown away. Textures twice as sharp as before , looks like a new sim to me. So far so good ( there is a bit more color mis-matching than default but nothing show- stopping as of yet). Some of the generic ( i call them " minecraft") textures are gone. Its really ' as real as it gets". Mountains sharp to the horizon. LOD just blows me away!
May 30, 20242 yr I‘m tempted to give this a try. What I am wondering is …. 1. What’s the differences between Bing maps and default imagery? Is it the same just with better resolution? 2. How is performance compared to default? 3. Can this mod mess up my installation? i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

Est-ce la même chose, mais avec une meilleure résolution ? 2. Comment les performances sont-elles comparées à celles par défaut ? 3. Ce mod peut-il gâcher mon installation ? 1) Try to have the same thing with MSFS by default (Jackson Hole) 2) No difference 3) I've been using it since it came out, only you can ruin your installation with a bad installation procedure.

May 30, 20242 yr I'm curious if the new Bing maps get rid of the green roads in the default version? Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.
May 30, 20242 yr Yes this app is a game changer for me. No blurry distant mountains. For an obvious comparison park up at Cape Town and look at Table Mountain. The terrain textures should be defined on it. I am a bit skeptical about performance too though. I am not sure if it changes anything (or if performance decrease could be due to AI traffic). Does high LOD mode perform any better, worse than standard?
