Just don't buy it then? I don't see how "Early Access" is misleading or a "spin phrase". It literally does what it says on the tin, gives you early access to a product that may not yet be finished. Th

So far Beyond ATC has been very good after a few minor issues with my 1st flight I have 7 total flights under my belt.

MSY-DEN (could not get clearance for my flight Freq did not exist, handoff to Ft Worth Center a few times frequency did not exist, very late handoff to tower)

DEN-LAS (ATC was not reading Sim brief FP for departure RW or arrival RW that we filed, late handoff to tower, issues reading gate request)

LAS-IAH (no issues)

IAH-MCO (no issues)

MCO-IAD (no issues)

IAD-LAX (no issues)

LAX-SFO (no issues)

I used to fly on Vatsim all the time but the time of the night I was flying no ATC was available or the very tail end so I would get clearance from the controller, a taxi out, and takeoff, then they signed off.

I like that I can start off on Vatsim and once I am switched over to unicom I can launch BeyondATC and still have ATC.

I am really looking forward to the AI injection and ATC chatter with the AI traffic it will really bring the skies alive.

It will when AI traffic injection is released.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

BATC will read what runway you filed, but doesn't care, as in real life or Vatsim for that matter. It will give you the current active runway, which is defined by weather and local airport specifics (e.g. preferential runway systems in place).

That I am fully aware I am rather versed in this department. My issue is the ATIS (current) and what I had filed and is currently active it still gave me a different RW. Took a few minutes had to reprogram the FMC for the new departure.

The issue seems to have been fixed with all of the updates it only happened on that flight and that was the day after the program was released.

So a feature would be nice to request a different RW as they did with the gate request.

That's apparently in work and will probably come after the Expo and after the imminent AI traffic.

BATC works fairly well if you're flying a jet from big airport to big airport....you know with structured SIDS/STARS.

It's pretty bad for smaller GA IFR point to point or just wanting to shoot approaches etc.

I did read several folks saying that so far, I have been fortunate since I fly only the 737 and using SIDS/STARS. The program is early and the number of updates they have ben pushing out is very positive for the customer base and hobby in general.

I have been using both BATC and Say Intentions.  I am liking BATC a bit more for IFR airliner-type flights.  Just tried a flight in the piston Duke (IFR) using BATC and overall it worked very well until the approach.  It gave a Visual approach which was appropriate given the WX but proceeded to vector me into a left downwind at the airport and then vectoring me to a base a mile out.   I think if it let you declare airport in sight further out (10-12 miles) it would have worked perfectly fine but does not give that option until you are very (too) close to airport (at least in this case it did not). Oh, I was also still on with 'Center' while on downwind for the arrival airport.  The airspace structure is kind of messed up in places in both SI and BATC, especially noticeable in the Baltimore Washington area.  You should not be on with Washington Center passing KBWI at 5000'. Both these programs are better than default but still pretty flawed IMO....

Yeah I admit that the biggest section of users is airliner flying.  So I think BATC really ironing out the bugs for that kind of flying first makes sense.

Be nice if they actually managed to get the second half of a solo flight working first, two flights today - both utterly hopeless for completely different reasons .. ..

First was far, far too late giving me STAR & RWY and even then didn't offer a descent at all, in fact when I gave up & started going down by myself it told me I should remain at FL360 (approx 60 miles left to run).

Second flight, airport was approx 120 miles away at 90 degrees it decided to give me vectors - within a couple of minutes I had 45 degrees, 25 degrees then 145 degrees .. ..

Both cases it got itself ignored .. .. back to P2ATC for me, voices (even the free ones) in BATC are better, but the rest is a car crash at the moment .. .

It's still Early Access. It's decent for Early Access for the routes that I tried. Not perfect, but decent.

I thought the early access was a working ATC but no AI traffic.

Then just like I predicted the whining began, BATC gives wrong vectors, It flyes me onto mountain, it is buggy, etc. The community voted and wanted an unfinished product and didn´t let the developers finish their job, so deal with it. I voted against early access, because there has been more than enough these half made products including MSFS 2020 itself.

I enjoy BeyondATC as it is right now. It has some issues, but so did MSFS when it was released back in 2020. I also enjoyed MSFS when it was released back in 2020.

Just having something like BeyondATC which can substitute VATSIM in various instances, is a nice option to have.

And I certainly saw the improvements since EA began. Some small, and incremental, some a little bigger. It's getting there.

One of the things that was changed but in a solution not exactly perfect was initial climb clearance in EASA land. At the begining this was treated like in the FAA zones where you will get different initial climbs first, which was incorrect for many airports, because the SID's in Europe often have initial climb clearances printed right on them.

But since those are different all the time, they decided to remove the intial climb clearance from delivery now. Which creates the problem that there are still many SID's that don't have an initial clearance. And for those you now have to pick an altitude yourself, because ATC is no longer giving you one.

What is strange is that I am not having the issues some on Discord are having like crashes and not being able to load the simbrief plans.  So far I've had some good flights with it. I really like the accents when I fly to the Caribbean, South America and Mexico. Even when I fly from Atlanta to New York you hear the New York accent and this is with the free voices!  Sure there are some quirky stuff they need to iron out and it is not perfect yet but so far the developers are on top of it fixing things.  I can't wait for the traffic injection part and hopefully we'll get that soon!
