July 8, 20241 yr I am a Mac user who looks forward to FS 2024 on a PC which I will build myself......my M1 Mac chip has the graphics onboard and it works but not great, even for 1080p. Are any of the newer AMD chips with onboard graphics delivering graphics card performance in the MSFS product?..looking forward to 2024 sim....

I never tested any of the AMD APUs, but the one I have on my CPU (7800X3D) is really weak, won't run anything decently. That said, I think the new APUs (8000G series) have a GPU equivalent to the GTX 1650, it will run ok.i5 12400F + GTX 1650 Gaming Test || Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (youtube.com)GTX 1650 | Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 - 1080p - Low, Medium, High, Ultra (youtube.com) Edited July 8, 20241 yr by ca_metal 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel
July 8, 20241 yr Unless the computer was only for web browsing and word processing, I'd never build it with only onboard graphics. Edited July 8, 20241 yr by eslader Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
July 8, 20241 yr The only way of running MSFS decently with an integrated GPU is by running the Cloud version. Anything else is a guaranteed slideshow. Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. July 8, 20241 yr I do not think a APU is going to cut it, maybe at 1080P with their next gen APUs. You can try but be ready to pony up for a dedicated GPU. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
July 8, 20241 yr Forget it... Get a decent AMD CPU ( only ) and a Nvidia GPU. My setup, "rather outdated", still runs MSFS smooth & silk ! (see my signature for specs). Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 8, 20241 yr It's not for nothing that separate videocards are bulky with al lot of fans and cooling ribs attached. That's because of the performance they can deliver. An onboard video chip won't cut it.
July 8, 20241 yr If budget constraints are such that you can't go for a dedicated GPU then I would seriously consider an Xbox instead, to be quite honest. You're never going to enjoy it with only integrated graphics. But based on the leaked documents, back when the Activision/Blizzard purchase were in the courts, they are planning a 2028 release for the next-gen console. AFAIK, they will release this year or the next a slim version of the Series X (same performance, but smaller/more compact). 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel
July 9, 20241 yr While I agree with the posts in this thread that an integrated graphics situation is not enough for MSFS, it could be done. If you are willing to give up a lot of eye candy and run at 1080P. I prefer 4k with a 4090 but this guy seems to have made it work. Maybe MSFS 2024 being more cloud based will make this even more possible?
