Is the updated DLSS file required for a 4090?

I have a 4090 and use frame gen but stay with TAA for one main reason....night lighting.

If so I see no reson to try it, night lightning is important for me, I'm happy with TAA anyway.

Please provide some factual basis for your claim then. In my opinion image quality with DLSS+DLAA is better than TAA.

  • Yes it does matter if you are using DLSS instead of TAA. DLSS is based off AI Machine Learning so the newer the version the more machine learning Nvidia  has done with it. I also have a 4090. I am usi

  • And why do you believe that? Do you understand how AI works? Secondly, I’ve been using each version as they have released and the visual quality and performance have increased as the releases have dro

Reading the messages in this thread I am getting more and more confused. It was my understanding that the DLSS file, my version right now is 3.7.10.0, also is working in combination with TAA. I did read this some time ago on NVidia's site. I now am doubting if indeed this is the case. Can any of you confirm (by experience) that this DLSS file also has its influences in TAA?

Kind regards,

That sounds highly unlikely. Do you have a quote from the website?

No, I tried to find it, but alas.....

i am Using DLSS 3.7.10, and Antialiasing set to TAA with my RTX3080Ti. No 4090 needed.
but it works only, when MSFS is in "focus". when a other Program is in Focus, the stutters...

Not seeing artifacts or blurry glass screens, including the speed & altitude tapes and I recon it is better than TAA

these videos compare different antialiasing/upscaling techniques. they focus on where it matters most: the fine print and glass cockpits. they require "10.000 times" more effort than just claiming this is or that is "10.000 times better". everybody decide for themselves:

very nice.

Here's a quick question. Previously I installed TWO updated DLSS related files into the simulator. These were the 3.6.0 versions - nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll

Seems with version 3.7.1.0, there is only a single nvngx_dlss.dll file and no nvngx_dlssg.dll file? The latter with the "g" is for Frame Generation.

Where is this "g" file found?? Or are people not using it? Surely the two need to be updated in tandem?

What’s that supposed to imply? AI is about to fundamentally make humans unnecessary in almost every occupation that requires solving problems or even creativity. No clue there other than AI has already surpassed the most intelligent among us. Not that I welcome it, but it is the reality of our time. Anyone who believes otherwise is highly word not allowed of the current capabilities of AI.

Might I add, it is a sad state of affairs when you can’t use the word like  “i g n o r a n c e” in a post. It is a fundamental word in the human language to convey the meaning “lack of knowledge or awareness”. It is not a word that should be confused with intelligence or lack thereof. All of us lack knowledge or awareness in many things so there is no derogatory meaning associated with the word, but alas that’s the world of taking offense and political correctness in which we find ourselves.

NVidia are one of the global leaders and pioneers in AI “learning”. Maybe the biggest. That has been a significant driver behind the meteoric rise in their share price. All I care about is that this AI has learnt to double my frame rates.😁

Yeah, unfortunately that is true. I do not imply any offense when I use the word. I guess we must find other words to convey similar meaning since so many people are easily offended. My wife works in healthcare, an area I have zero interest learning about, so I am highly ign… of many things she is not and I candidly admit it. It does not offend me at all.
