July 23, 20241 yr Hello all, I have been enjoying flying the T7 but I need to practice my landings. I seem to hit pretty hard and I think part of the problem is that the perspective is much higher above the runway than most planes. That said, is there a best practice for how to save a flight in mid-air, about 6 nm from the airport? I tried using the save flight feature in MSFS but when I reload it all goes crazy and I am overspeeding by about 100 knots on loading. I know that the PMDG T7 is a very complex plane so I didn't really think that the MSFS save could freeze all the necessary parameters. Any advice on the best way to save flights on approach? Thanks. July 23, 20241 yr I think it's recommended to land with auto throttle engaged. Auto throttle will automatically cut power around 25 ft AGL. I personally prefer pitch attitude 2-3 degrees on round up. I use GPWS radio altimeter calls to help me with round up. Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). July 23, 20241 yr FSIPanel is very good and keeps getting better. I just wish I had time to use it more. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
July 23, 20241 yr Much better for your skill training, and more realistic, is to spend an hour or so flying circuits. I’m sure there’ll be a circuit profile diagram available for the T7 somewhere. 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.

Two huge runways, set out in the desert so it's easy to spot, and some nice freeware scenery at FS.2. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
July 23, 20241 yr That’s exactly where I do my circuit training too,.It also has the advantage of being surrounded by nothing but dessert so is great for smooth frame rates . 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.
July 23, 20241 yr Yeah do circuits. You will also get better at landing by just spending time hand flying the aircraft. Just keep doing some circuits with touch and go’s for an hour or two. You’ll learn a lot about the aircraft and how it handles and even the bits when you’re not actively landing the aircraft will be of great benefit.

If your speed is higher than VREF, you'll need a lower touchdown angle. Ideally, you'll touchdown at VREF (I don't know about you, but when I hear "ten" from the gipwiz, all bets are off, not paying attention to any particular pitch attitude). PS: This is for a standard touchdown rate of -150 FPM Edited July 24, 20241 yr by V1ROTA7E AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT

Piece of cake.
