Did the PMDG 777-300ER Get Pushback Implemented Yet?

Featured Replies

Curious as I want to start flying the PMDG 777-300ER, but there's no way for me to pushback and steer the plane to face north/west/east/whatever ATC asks for, as I don't have GSX, the default pushback doesn't offer left or right steering, and the PMDG was grayed out when I used it. Not a big deal for smaller aircraft, but when you're in a 242' plane crammed into a crowded terminal, having functional pushback to maneuver your plane out of parking and comply with the controller's instructions becomes quite important.

Did PMDG ever add pushback to the 77W? I've been flying the Fenix A320 and Headwinds A330, but would love to start flying the 77W. Also, not interested in buying GSX, or downloading third party software.

No, and no indications of when it will appear other than "planned".

Lol... I'll keep it in the hangar then. That, on top of the sounds, really irks me for a $78 plane. I mean... pushback is something so simple, that even the default A20N has. I could buy GSX, or some freeware push tool... but then that's even more software and I want to avoid the CTD plague that I used to get with FSX.

Guess I'm spoiled with such expectations from my lovely Fenix A320 (and my freeware A330), and my default FBW A20N, and my PMDG planes in FSX that I bought over ten years ago. With those I can at least have a pushback to maneuver it out of the gate without ramming into the terminal or another parked plane on VATSIM.

Don't mean to be a "negative Nancy" - but a steerable pushback is a really basic tool. I mean, it was commonplace in FSX, and in MSFS it seems EVERY other developer includes it, even some of the default planes!

I haven’t had one CTD in MSFS for years, even with GSX.  You’re missing out.

It does look cool, but I fly to lots of different airports and download lots of freeware airports, so I don't really want to deal with trying to find or create profiles. I definitely think about it :)

Quick but ugly solution: [SHIFT] [P] for straight out push in combination with [Y] to open slew mode, [numpad 1 or 3] to turn and [Y] again to close slew mode.

the pushback option in the 737 is not working very well. it does not always execute turns. Looks like they haven’t got this one under control and therefore left it out in the 777 ?

Good one !!! Never thought about it !

I've always failed miserably to use the default SHIFT-P followed by keyboard 1 or 2 for port / starboard steering turn, but that idea of combining the pushback with Slew Mode ( Y ) is great !!! Will give it a try ASAP !!! Thanks !

It is nasty FS9/FSX legacy that MSFS2020 still have no good pushback feature, yet we have another eye candy updates...

You don't need no profiles, it works out of the box (nose left/nose right). Profiles is for fancy route pushbacks and tows and stuff

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

With all of the assistance features that I've never used surely it would take someone maybe ONE hour to code an auto push back option into the toolbar?

All you need is

BACK (distance)

Left /Right (tail /nose) degrees.

That's it!

Or just auto pb onto nearest taxiway. I wouldn't even care if it's the wrong direction I like taxiing 😎

The Fenix A320 has a fine pushback feature, so does the FWB A320, and the Headwinds A330. Seems that PMDG are the odd ones out.
