Prosimdesk and HC Bravo.

Hi all,

so after being shamed on another thread into trying to fix my snapped-internal-wires bravo and doing so quite easily and wishing I’d done it sooner, I’m now looking at the prosimdesk Airbus Advanced and their Boeing 737 (with gates for the others incl).

I am UK based so curious before ordering if there is anything as good in Europe that might make shipping easier, and if not - then has anyone in the UK bought these products and been faced with any shipping issues such as surprise customs fees etc.

thanks in advance (and for being shamed as above!!)

Ian.

I do not recommend Prodesksim.

I ordered the Hondajet levers and it said 14 days processing time. On day 21 I inquired about shipping and they said they were running behind but he would personally ship it “tomorrow.” A week later I inquired and was told that they were running behind and it would ship tomorrow. I cancelled the order for a refund. He informed me that they had a no-refund policy once the order is placed. I told them I would initiate a chargeback on my credit card and he reluctantly refunded it “as a courtesy.” Shame, as I really wanted the product.

I can’t imagine they could handle an international order.

That's nothing, it took 4 months to get my Virpil stuff.  And to top it off, I never received part of it.

Wow. Insane. I also see the now PDS is saying 21-40 days before shipping!

I recently ordered my 737 Pro V3 Levers from the other guy 'Flightsim Factory" on July 11 and was told they were behind in orders, just received it last week on Aug. 14, so about a month. Any thing else I have ordered was approximately 3 weeks order to delivery.

Sorry, VKB?

Hi ianb2469,

Yes, Flight Sim Factory is a very good option. Out of the 3 or 4 out there on ESTY, he is by far the best. I have stuff from all of them, and this one is by far the best. Two of my orders from PRODESKSIM, the Auto throttle buttons on one side were inop. While they replaced the broken units w/o any trouble, I did have to wait for quite some time. With FLIGHT SIM FACTORY, everything has worked so far (I have 5 or 6 sets from him.)

Best regards,

Mario

I buy my stuff from FlightSimFactory, just up the road from me (though funnily, Canada Post brings the package to LA to clear customs first). Quick to ship, the only issue is customs.

I would think PDS might take a little while because these are all 3D printed parts and he's probably not sitting on inventory, possibly even using a 3rd party printing process and then doing the touch up work, decals, etc. when he gets them back. It would go a long way to explaining the delay.

I had the same fast service from VKB. They used Fedex from China. Under a week.

EDIt: Now, I see they have a North American site too...

Yeah. And sadly, they're not exaggerating. I've ordered a few different kits from ProDesksim and I've been pretty happy with the levers. But their shipping times have steadily gotten worse. My last order, I submitted in late May and it only just arrived in the first week of August and even then, I had to contact Support to inquire about my order before it finally shipped (10 days after I submitted a ticket).

I suspect that they are a victim of their own success and they just haven't figured out a way to properly scale their operation. Or maybe they just don't want to. Regardless, as much as I like their lever kits, I've pretty much decided that I need to look elsewhere until PDS can sort out their shipping backlog.

Does anyone offer just the Boeing flaps kits with the detents? All the ones I have found are either not a complete flaps/detents, or packaged with the throttles.

If you have access to a 3D printer (or a 3D printing service), you can download a set of detents from:
https://www.freesimstuff.com/downloads--honeycomb.html

They also have a plan for a collar that goes around the original Honeycomb flap lever to use the detents. They actually work quite well even if they're not as polished and "pretty" as the PDS kits.

That's a really good idea, thanks.
