August 22, 20241 yr I mostly fly GA & business jets. I do have the Just Flight BAe 146 and will be purchasing the RJ series when available. I would like to purchase a good short range airliner for short distance flights. I enjoy SayIntentions for ATC, so now want to try FS2Crew/FlightSim first Officer to simulate the co-pilot. Maybe the Microsoft ATR72 with FS2Crew? The aircraft doesn't have to be 'study level' but I still want good systems depth without the failures. The Shorts 330/360 are a possible. I like the look of the Just flight F28, but don't really want to go back to purely radio nav aids. Maybe the Dash 7? I would appreciate some suggestions to fit ashort range airliner. August 22, 20241 yr Depends on how small you want to go, and how short is short range. There are the BlackBox Islander and Trislander variants, and as an additional suggestion on the extra small side, there are/were a number of air taxi operators using the Cessna 207, which Carenado has a version of in the Marketplace. Also, the Carenado Pilatus PC-12, used by a number of smaller airlines. (Also the SWS PC-12 model...there are fans of both or either). Finally, in this size range, there is the Blacksquare C208 Caravan, which is a significant enhancement of the Asobo Caravan. On the slightly larger side, the Dash 7 is decent, but I haven't checked the latest 1.65 update. There are some reports of flight dynamics issues. The JF F28 does have an option to put a Garmin GNS530 in the cockpit, for what it's worth. Edited August 22, 20241 yr by STK
August 22, 20241 yr The ATR is cheap, works well and fits your bill. It’s not overly complicated, it has a few fun quirks, and has operators all over the world for routes.
August 22, 20241 yr If you just want an airliner, and don't mind a lack of real-world routes or fictional liveries, the PMDG 737-600 at $35 is a good deal for a good airplane.

I second this. Can fly anywhere. Lots to learn. Very different from the BAE-146. Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

August 22, 20241 yr I'd definitely recommend the PMDG 736, absolute steal at that price. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
August 23, 20241 yr Author I hadn't considered the PMDG B737. Fenix just released the Airbus A319 which is equivalent. Any recommendations which one is 'better'? Both are available with FS2Crew and animated first officer. The base airplane is on discount, but it's a lot more expensive than the 737-600,
