hehe - because the number of request/messages regarding this are getting insane lately

To be fair I didn't "ask" I more insinuated and led "hoping" to get an answer LOL!!!

It's all with the utmost admiration, gratitude and respect!

You’ll never find a more dedicated bunch than those who give their time and effort to make AIG the Rolls-Royce of Ai traffic. A behemoth like Microsoft will never provide the same quality of liveries.

  • The fact that you haven't found the right article doesn't mean that the question has not been addressed. 😉 From the preview by yours truly: Unfortunately, couldn't get "hands-on" with this

Why not? You should. You've earned yourself a title of one of the community leaders in the topic. We value your opinion.

I am assuming that all third party software I have purchased will also be needed, for me, in MS2024:

  • ATC
  • Flight Planner
  • Aircraft
  • Airports
  • Real world liveries
  • AI aircraft

I really looked forward to much of this stuff to be complete and extensive in 2020 (per the previews).  However, it became clearly apparent within just the first few hours of game play that third party efforts were needed.  I personally therefore assume this will be true for 2024.

We are in 2024, it's a Microsoft product. Where is Microsoft Copilot AI implementation in MSFS2024? Is MSFS the only product on earth avoiding the hype of AI? 😉

2024 will use AI to replicate your voice for use in ATC (and in the future, Multiplayer voice chat) if you give it consent.

Would not shock me to hear that MS/Asobo acquires SayIntentions at some point.

I've been watching all the eye popping eye candy and new missions but the elephant in the room has not been asked.  What's going on with AI Traffic

The fact that you haven't found the right article doesn't mean that the question has not been addressed. 😉

From the preview by yours truly:

Quote

"Air traffic (this is a flight simulator, after all) is likely what received the most radical changes. Gone are the times of a few Frankenstein aircraft with fictional (and horrible) liveries to represent the world’s airlines. The developers have reproduced 91% of the world’s civilian aircraft as AI models.

There is still room for improvement with liveries, as Microsoft managed to reproduce 25% of the existing airlines for the moment. Of course, more will come with updates.

The one point of criticism I have for AI air traffic (at least for now) is that MSFS 2024 still uses data from FlightAware to drive its live AI aircraft. In my experience, that’s pretty lacking, especially in certain areas of the world. FlightRadar 24 tends to have better and much more complete data, and I wish it was chosen as the partner, or even better, I wish Microsoft used both and integrated them so that we could enjoy the best of both worlds."

Unfortunately, couldn't get "hands-on" with this part because it still was not implemented in the build we tested.

That being said, we did get some very very spiffy screenshots.

There's a couple aircraft there that people don't really fly that often anymore IRL, like the Cessna Bird Dog and Beech 18, I bet they're mostly there for Multiplayer model matching. There's also Helicopter models way in the back.

Also looks like some of the aircraft might have low detail cockpits.

You'd hope ALL of them have low detail cockpits. That's required for AI aircraft not to be resource hogs.

I mean having modelled cockpits at all seems unnecessary for AI traffic.

Liveries is one thing and that is covered in any case by the third parties already mentioned. It's the AI logic and ATC that needs the reworking.

Enough of addons trying to hack the code to try and improve this, only to fall short .

let's have a very good standard in-built within the game - then give others the SDK to make brilliant improvements 👍

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.
