Prelim: AH 707 Screenshots

It's only the Duckworks mod that makes the DC-3 good...

I do buy a lot of AH planes, but that's because they make the planes I want to fly...I do wish they would put more effort in...the 707 may be the last for me.

I think they do put a lot of effort in,  but end up trying to be too clever. There's no doubtlng their enthusiasm, but I wish they would refocus some of their efforts back on the basics, like 3D model, textures, flight dynamics and beta testing. I keep looking at their releases, and hoping for good reviews - but after all my previous experiences with their aircraft in FSX and P3D, I'm very wary. The Hurricane is one of my real-world favourite aircraft, and I can't help wishing Flying Iron had done it instead of AH. I don't hold out much hope for their Lancaster either, though I will be very happy to be proved wrong.

It is possibly the worst aircraft I have ever purchased for MSFS2020; it is barely up to poor freeware quality, all round, on everything.
Model, Textures, Sounds, Systems - the whole lot, with lots of basic things missing.

At this stage I am wondering if they have accidentally released the wrong version by mistake (you know, the one that wasn't ready about 2 months ago), as otherwise, I don't know what to say, it's disastrously poor.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a refund from the marketplace for this?
It will be a first time doing that for me, but this aircraft is so bad that I just don't want it and I genuinely feel ripped off.
Even if it was for free I would delete it in it's current state.

EDIT:  I have not seen the direct quotes, but apparently there is chatter that the developer says a lot of these things were fixed over a month ago.  So it may be the wrong version.
But in any case, unless there is a better sound set I would still not be interested - it is the most pathetic sound set I have heard in MSFS2020.

Yikes... if this is your experience after 2 months of delays to clean it up, I suspect my pessimism about the reason for the delay was well-founded. Asobo has let some real trash get released to the marketplace as an Asobo/Microsoft partnership, this must've been a step too far with their name on it.

It's good to watch this two videos by the author of the flight model files of this 707 by AH.

He is someone I respect for his talent, knowledge, dedication to accuracy, and it's good to see him talking about the "behind the scenes" facts about the development of the 707.

It's probably not to the level of other addons graphics and systems wise, but the flight dynamics are probably the closest possible given the many limitations imposed by the underlying platform:

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I watched Part 1, and it was very interesting. I have to be honest here, and say that I have been guilty in the past of wanting/expecting aircraft to fly a certain way. The simple example would be single piston engine aeroplanes that have that distinctive "pull to the left" during take off or in cruise. I purchased the A2A Simulations Piper Cherokee 180 and Comanche 250 for P3D, and both of those acted in this manner. Totally realistic, but annoying at the same time! I am not a real world pilot, so having to "fight" the plane is not something that I am used to.

I suspect that some people noticed the bugs/texture issues/other problems with this 707 aircraft, and automatically assumed that the flight model was also compromised, caused in part by their expectations of how the plane should fly.
