September 24, 20241 yr I was hoping this would be great but looking at the preview video it looks a bit unfinished and something very wrong with the engine shape. I think I will pass on this one. I believe another developer is making a 707 so I will just wait for that one. Don't get me wrong I want old classic jets (or anything from that era) but it has to be at least a little bit on the quality side!
September 24, 20241 yr I'm extremely disappointed how they can release such a horrible rendition of the 707. (These are only my observations after watching some livestreams, I DID not purchase it and will NOT be purchasing it) I usually give benefit of the doubt and I hate to be that guy to smash a product, but this is not great at all. Especially for the price. -The sounds are awful, sounds like they recorded them from a Dyson vacuum. -There are aircraft parts sticking through the cabin -The cabin textures are something you'd see in fs2004 -Nose wheel does not turn when taxiing -No engine smoke FX, the 707 was notorious for large black trails from the JT3D engines -The wings are flexed upwards while sitting on the ground -INS unit is dummy unit and does not work -External views only shows one pilot in the flight deck LOL -Slats don't extend Jay| PPL ASEL || Ryzen 7 7800x3D | MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming Trio 24Gb | ASUS X670E-E ROG Strix | 64GB G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 | x2 32' 4K | Windows 11
September 24, 20241 yr Bet it'll be like the C-47 AH made, the autopilot won't work probably, their aircraft are all like Friday cars!
September 24, 20241 yr Author Weight & Balance. Earlier I described my experience setting W&B / CG for the cargo plane. It was a no go and my cargo flight had to depart empty in order to make a CG that was flyable. Load the PAX version and W&B / CG are no challenge. Load the fuel, load the payload in the economy class bucket and CG remains in spec and plane seems far better poised for flight than with the cargo. Same FP btw (only one variant currently on SB). I will try another cargo flight and see if I can duplicate an out of CG situation again. -B

September 24, 20241 yr I thought all 300C's had a large fuselage cargo door? I remember before they were modeling the 300B which would've made sense.
September 24, 20241 yr Author So now doing a third test flight. It loads and flys well in PAX version using the toolbar W&B tools. Speaking of toolbar tools this plane plays and flys splendidly with the PMS50 GTN750 in toolbar mode. It even allows you to import a Simbrief plan directly into the GTN750 and as a bonus it also populates the GNS. I think the 707 is using Asobo / WT AP controls and the PMS50 interfaces very well with such a setup. Flying BAB to MIB right now climbing thru 23,000 for 37,000. Currently all systems nominal. -B Edit: FP called for 37,000 but climb rate was very slow from 34,000 or so. Still heavy with fuel. So I leveled off at 34.5. Current TAS Mach .78 est. GS 452. Actually I think I’m going to like this plane. A lot. Today I feel like John Travolta! -B Edited September 24, 20241 yr by btacon

September 24, 20241 yr 4 hours ago, Sticky said: But flys great and the heavy clumsy landings are fantastic! Yes. No problem with hands on control landings without aides. Handles easy, maybe too easy? And ground handling is great, like all AH planes, large or small. It's the one and probably only thing they do better than other developers. I'm not sure why. Worth the money for me, I love vintage aircraft more than modern. When I go to open house at nearby AFB, I never look inside or walk through the modern planes, only the old ones, fascinating. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 24, 20241 yr Hoping all the issues you mentioned, Mets737 will be fixed in an update along with the CIVA INS being added. I'm finding nosewheel steering and taxiing easy in the 707 with my Thrustmaster TCA sidestick. Taking out Famous Flyer 10 for a quick spin over southern California.
