Does somebody see the TCAS working on the FBW A380 ?

Yes, very much so. It even has AUTO-TCAS.

  • I would say with a high margin of safety that this is the biggest community achievement in the history of Flight Simulation as a whole, and not even by a small margin.

  • click spot to disable the cabin. I found it helped a bit with VRAM performance

  • So far I am mind blown. It seems to be much better than I've expected. I still need to do a full flight on it, but just playing a bit with the avionics I can see that a lot of effort has been put into

I have long pauses and freezes during taxi, is this normal?

Yes

I'm a heavy GA flyer as most know but I found a tutorial from British Avgeek and finally got this bird into the air from the gate hehe

WOW....  It's absolutely nuts that this is all for free!

Take a bow, FBW!

For anyone not using a RTX 4090, I found this performance improvement mod to be brilliant. It allows me to fly into detailed payware airports once again – currently performance of the FBW A380 on my PC is slightly worse than Fenix A320 performance.

(Back-up your main A380 base texture files first!)

I also like this replacement light mod https://flightsim.to/file/83997/flybywire-a380x-realistic-enhanced-lighting and this window cleaning mod https://flightsim.to/file/84063/fbw-a380-clean-cockpit-windows

IMO, it's actually worthwhile flying the FBW A380 now.

Can the values in the Active/Fuel&Load page be changed to Lbs.?

I have lbs. selected in the settings menu of the EFB but I can only input tons in the fuel&load page.

No.  Weight in pounds is not currently working even though you can select it in the Pad.  You need to have Simbrief do the calculations in kilograms because all the entries in this page are in metric tons.  Hope this helps.

I've done a full flight now from Hong Kong to London and it's a beautiful aircraft and amazing stuff by FBW.

Noticing some small things like

1. Went into a descent all by itself somewhere over Russia or China , I only came back into the room luckily and caught it

2. Didn't catch the GS after arming APP I had to manually dive it back to the glidepath and then it accquired the GS and went fine from there

3. Weird "fluttering" sound on the ground as the engine start routine is going and then right at the end in rollout after landing.

4. Managed speed mode felt a bit flaky

Max

Apparently it's because no American airlines bought the A380. The airlines that did use kgs

I think we may look into this but no promises, due to what peter said. Or in our open source nature, you're free to open a PR and have a go yourself.

**edit just saw @Peterwk's comment so edited to avoid repetitive comments.
