Just Flight RJ Professional released

Featured Replies

Just did a quick VFR flight around the UK and a successful ILS landing at EGCC.

Splendid!

I turned off the passenger cabin on the EFB which seemed to sort a few judders I was having (running at higher res than my GPU is comfortable with in VR) and an altogether very pleasing experience.

Only issue so far is that the warning panel block to the right of the engine instruments are quite fuzzy (both in 2D and VR).  They are very bright so maybe there is a backlight adjustment that will bring them less bright and sharper...I'll have to consult the VERY comprehensive documentation....

What a busy final month for MSFS 2020!  We got the Just Fight RJ Professional released today. Then we had the iFly 737 Max released a few weeks ago, and then the FBW A380 released, and then the Fenix

I checked the manual and have found most of the panel dimming lights, but not this one...anyone else found one and/or seeing the same blurriness?

Fabulous interior, by the way 🙂

A little bit to the right of the landing gear lever there's a small panel with a label named MWS, there's the switch

Great - thanks.  I'll try it in the morning.

273 page regular manual sheesh!

Then they have additional avioncs manuals and from or something.

In JF's "defense" (not that they need any of course for providing decent documentation) a chunk of that is the usual JF Style Tutorial flight (and there's an additional Tutorial in the separate FMS manual to give more experience with that)

After running the standard tutorial from LSZH to EBBR I have to say I'm REALLY impressed. It's got enough automation to make your life easier but still in that sweet spot where you still have things to do and it looks and sounds great and nice touches like the F/O callout of Flap speeds during Approach are really helpful.

I'm sure there are bugs that will crop up and features JF could include (I'd love to see working C/Bs to go with the failures system) but the package they've delivered looks well worth the money to me.

Double post deleted - sorry about that.

I really want to buy it! But with MSFS2024 less than a week away, I'm going to hold off until RJ transition specifically to 2024 platform

Agreed. Very good aircraft.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Great aircraft, did two flights tonight CYOA-CYYC and EHAM-EGLC.  As mentioned it's a nice level of automation, somewhere in between the need to manhandle the -146 to do what you want it to do (which has its own charms) and the ultra automation of newer aircraft.

One issue I had tonight was on approach to EGLC Runway 9.  I'm not sure if this is an RJ thing or an EGLC thing but twice when I captured the localizer the aircraft turned away from the airport.  The first time there were EFIS indications of a backcourse but not the second.  I see from the charts there is a shared ISL frequency for both runways at EGLC but I don't understand why it would have grabbed the backcourse instead of the proper localizer, any thoughts?

Also, I had steep mode engaged, it was active S.APP was illuminated in green , but still couldn't maintain my approach speed.  I looked in the manual and couldn't see any other required steps?  I noticed that my speed brakes weren't extended at all on final approach which is what I would expect.  Perhaps it's because I had to fly the approach manually to to my backcourse issue?

Not sure about your LOC issue - but "Steep Approach" does nothing to slow you down, that's up to you to set the speedbrakes, "Steep Approach" is there to let GPWS know that you're coming in at a higher angle than the norm.

I'm probably doing similar, will try and hold off 2024 until the RJ transitions to that platform.

I bought the 146 via Marketplace a few months back. I will never do this again as the plane comes with a lot of liveries that I do not fly with. I like to keep things tidy and remove those liveries but then your package is corrupt and it won't load in the sim anymore.

Can I buy the RJ via Justflight and get a discount as well? I don't see how I can indicate that in the checkout.

Hmmm. I did same approach last night in JF Grand Duke and plane also turned away from airport. Had to fly manual or I'd have ended up over Heathrow.

Reckon in my case was frequency issue as I'm used to switching to ils on gps manually after selecting vloc but I think unit switched automatically without me noticing so I switched back.

Also had hdg mode stuck on no way to deactivate which didn't help. Just thought I'd mention going to try again later. Was using lc1 transition if that helps, from memory. The one with larger base radial.

You can only get the discount from the shop you purchased from.

Thank you. Lessons learned 🙂
