November 17, 20241 yr oops, I just posted this in the "where will it be.." thread. This worked great for me, and I got the microsoft store version, not gamepass. Edited November 17, 20241 yr by desbean update
November 18, 20241 yr I "pre-installed" MSFS2024, chose a custom folder on my F: drive, but the folder size is only 13MB or so. So I guess the 50 gigabytes will be available to download upon release? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

November 18, 20241 yr It's a shame this is only for the marketplace version. Still 30gig shouldn't take a long time to download.

It's essentially pointless, as it's just the client shell, not the actual sim data yet. So won't save you any time come release. And if indeed you found a way to install into C:\xBox Games just the core, like in 2020, and setup a folder for the main content under, say, F:, then please give me some clues on how to do that because I was not able to at least in the Alpha preview ... I followed captain´s Mike instructions, but it allows me to select C folder only - how can I select folder F that is the folder I want? Thanks Edmundo Azevedo

I did get the option to choose a drive and folder, although it seems that was a content folder similar to C:\xbox games. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

If I understand correctly (and I may not) if you do this, it will automatically download the program when it is available tomorrow so you wont need to manually download. If that is correct, it will save time if you are at work and not able to download.

Hi abrams, I will be putting them up just as soon as I get the flight deck setup, I just hope the PMDG doesn't need much to get going. Unless the release version changes that, we will then be unable to instal the content folders under a different drive/partition, like in MSFS 2020... I personally don't like that - being forced to hook the whole XboxGames folder and a few more replicas of system folders to the partition I am willing to make the content install reside 🥴 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Not if one isn't home during release time, the download should be done by the time one gets home from work. Unless there are server issues. I find it hard to believe MS would make the pre download available if it was pointless.
