I can't get the Toolbar to toggle on in VR (the pop-up with weather, ATC, payload etc) in MSFS 2024. Is it just me? Any trips?

I have the same problem. Bound the VR Toolbar to a button and confirmed it works in settings, but no VR toolbar in VR.

The strange thing is the first flight I tried the VR toolbar works, now it kind of disappeared.

It's broken like Asobos interest in VR, seriously how this wasn't tested prior to release I'll never know!

VR Toolbar:
go to settings --> Controls --> Go to controller where you want to assign that to, search for "VR Toggle Toolbar" assign your button in both rows.
In VR press that assigned button and move your mouse upwards till you see it appear (you can use it and make it go away or come back with your button.
If it fails hit escape & resume, it that does not work exit VR and enter VR again = OK

In settings-controls I’m just seeing a “?” next to the VR toolbar with no way to assign it, quite frustrating.

On one flight the toolbar appeared but I had no idea what I had pressed, and so the couldn’t get rid of it again.

I see this too, but my enter/leave VR joystick button binding works fine despite what this screen shows.

That is so confusing! It SHOWS it there but doesn’t let you assign it. Go into controller settings, search for VR and you’ll see it’s not assigned. Assign it THERE and it will show up next time you go to VR settings.

Thanks, managed to assign it to a button on my yoke so back in business now.

Been back in 2020 this afternoon, it was like a breath of fresh air !

I can’t say I approve of changing all the keys around with 2024, there has always been a certain degree of communality between versions of flight sim so you instinctively knew what was what still after an upgrade . Not anymore !

This actually worked for me too, although it was very inconsistent. At least I could interact with ATC once I got the toolbar opened.

@MarcG's tip works for me too, but also inconsistently. Still time to time the VR toolbar wouldn't show up no matter how I try.

I didn't assign the button for the second row, will do it later.

BTW, every key binding in 2020/2024 has two rows/entries, but I actually don't know what is the purpose of the second entry. 2D and VR, or for every key/command you can try assign two buttons on the controller to it?

I have been having the same issue, it's pretty disapointing that ASOBO did not polish up some of the issues with the GUI. On a separate note, this whole control assignment interface might offer lots of flexibility, but it's super confusing and takes a while to get to the bottom of things. It would have been nice to put a few tutorials on YT instead of us spending hours figuing things out or waiting for someone to publish a tutorial for us...

FYI for the changed keyboard commands there is one you can switch to that uses the old 2020 bindings.  I did that and set it as default so the old keyboard commands work and I didn't have to change.  Also I finally figured the control bindings out thanks to a YouTube video and I have to say I really like it and it makes sense and I may not use Axis and Ohs anymore for anything other than my Saitek Radio Panel which is currently not working.  You can set up controls per aircraft and easily duplicate one airplane to another and then adjust controls as necessary to fit that aircraft.  These profiles are all under the "airplanes controls" and when you switch to that aircraft it automatically loads that profile that you save each time.  I just saved them with that aircraft name.  The bottom section of Custom Controls for whatever aircraft I actually have not found out a use for and that is what was confusing me because I thought that section was for a profile for each aircraft but it's not.  I believe that section is going to be for specific LVars maybe or specific commands in 3rd party aircraft that don't use default sim bindings and I have not had a use for that yet.  I also setup a custom general commands profile for my Bravo just to have one switch that turns on the flashlight in all aircraft.  Here's the video in case it helps someone else:

Did you find a solution to this? I cannot seem to assign a key to this 🥲
