The important part of the OP is number 5. The other 4 can be ignored. Let's say you have an airport that you want to use instead of an Asobo bespoke airport. Give your airport the same name as the Asobo airport package for the same airport and put it into community. That is all there is to it.

Yes. That is their official term. They have been calling them "bespoke" for about 3 years now.

Thanks again for sharing this info. I had a lower quality addon airport I had brought on the marketplace that I stopped using by having that same airport made by a different developer that I had purchased outside of the market place.  I see there looks to be a way to enable and disable addons in the new marketplace but that feature isnt up and running yet. However, that a bit different then trying to replace an Asobo bespoke airport. Just glad it worked.

I have just checked it out and notice that you are hoping to continue this after Dec 9. That is a great idea and would have been helpful in 2020 (although I have deleted mine) as it was never easy to quickly see which MSFS airports clashed with purchased ones. I am currently not adding any of my purchased airports until after 9thso look forward to hearing about your next version. Thank you.

There's other tools that can help with that! The functionality you're looking for already exists in the Addon Linker tool, under Tools > Scan ICAO / Check for duplicates.

My tool will become obsolete once Asobo / MS add the functionality to the Content Manager to disable streamed content, which is coming December 9th (fingers crossed), but I'll leave it up for folks that prefer to use my tool for whatever reason, or just to delete their overrides so they can use the official way after that.

I don't know if they shut something down but I can't get any of my MS Store FS2020 airports in FS2024 atm. They worked fine all week, now they don't work and when I check in the Library it's says "n/a" for all the 3rd party airports.

 

FS2020 runs like a champ still, no issues there.

Jorg said they would disable all of non-aircraft 2020 add-ons that were automatically streamed (even if unverified) from the Marketplace for now, because they believe them to be a major source of soft hangs and CTDs. They should have the functionality to manually enable/disable add-ons in the patch planned for December 9th. So I guess that's what that is.
