November 25, 20241 yr This is probably relevant as more and more payware airports become available for MSFS2024: Quote Whilst we recognise that there is currently no option to disable streamed airport content via the content manager in-sim, we have a temporary work-around to override streamed airports in MSFS2024, this will allow you to use 3rd party airport addons without conflicting scenery packages being loaded in unison. Please note, this requires changing some folder names and could break content, therefore we suggest you backup any folders you intend to make these changes to. Products will not show as installed once the name is changed, you will have to manually uninstall. PC ONLY. Steps to override streamed airport content: Download chosen product from the iniManager. Navigate to your MSFS2024 community folder. Find the downloaded product folder and change the folder name as described below: If downloading either LOWI or EGSS, you can rename the "inibuilds-airport-...." package to one of the following respective names; LOWI - 'asobo-airport-lowi-innsbruck' EGSS - 'microsoft-airport-egss-stansted' Otherwise; If you are looking for another airport to override the streaming for, you can navigate to your \StreamedPackages folder found here: - Steam: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages - MS Store: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\StreamedPackages If there is a custom scenery provided by Asobo/Microsoft for the airport you are trying to override, locate the folder, copy the folder name and then overwrite the downloaded scenery package in your regular community folder to the same name. This will force the community folder package to be read instead of any streamed version. We hope that once the Marketplace is made available in sim that this issue is resolved, however in the meantime, please make use of this work-around to enjoy MSFS2024 to the fullest! November 25, 20241 yr Oh boy. Really hope a more graceful solution is in the pipeline. There's no way I'm changing folder names or deleting stuff for every airport I download. I'd like to test if it works, but so few payware airports are available for 2024 at this stage. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
November 25, 20241 yr I find it really interesting that Asobo MS released the sim in this state...they make it hard for 3th party devs when it come to support. Because all these work arounds do create issues. But thanks for sharing!!! Happy flying Regards, Marcus P.
November 25, 20241 yr As more details arrive, MSFS2020 seems to have been in a better state than MSFS2024 when it came out. What a shame. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

It is hard to believe the technicians at Asobo would have given the sim the OK for release in this state so I am guessing the beancounters somehow must have decided to release it in its current state. I am realist enough to understand that bugs in software are inevitable but many of the bugs we see are so obvious that Asobo must have known these to exist but was unable to fix them in time before release. I just got penalized for lowering the flaps in the VL-3 at too high a speed when I was starting on a ferry flight. I was parked at the time😕 and was figuring out my controls. Now, those kind of bugs I can live with, but some of the default aircraft aren't working at all! On a positive note, someone seems to have fixed the server issues, or there are just a whole lot less people hammering the servers now. November 25, 20241 yr I think a lot of folk have short memories, Have you all forgotten the SU5 in 2020,fiasco that was game stopping, and put devs back months, as they changed to make it XBox compatible... November 25, 20241 yr My personal opinion is that Asobo and MS were clearly speculating on the Christmas business. Because bringing such a half-finished product onto the market is pretty crazy. After all the hype that was created around this sim, you would have thought that the rush would be huge. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for everything to be streamed. If the servers don't work, the sim won't work either. I won't switch from the 2020 to the 2024 for the time being and am glad that I still have my P3D v5, which works very well even without streaming. November 25, 20241 yr I bought iniBuilds EGSS from the marketplace in 2020, will it stream automatically and replace the 2024 default? Or do I have to do something? November 25, 20241 yr How does this relate to addon airports specified in the Community folder? My reading of the OP and inibuilds doc is that ALL airports I try to use thru the Community folder will be overwritten by the streamed airport. Is that correct? If correct - then what is the point of having a Community Folder? And... how do I install/use/see the hundreds of add on airports I have accumulated? Is that correct? If there is bespoke airport for it, yes. Unless you do what Inibuilds tells you to do. Rename the root folder of the scenery you want to use and make MSFS2024 think the bespoke airport's file's are on your drive. Then it won't stream it.

That's up to the developer and dependant on how much work needs to be done. They have already started porting them over. 2 out of my ORBX airports are already ported. Just switch the simulator to 2024 in OrbxCentral to see which ones of yours are already done.
