Horrible performance in the TBM

Featured Replies

I experience horrible perfomance in the TBM, with less than 10 FPS while performance of the game is very good with other aircraft (sometime more than 150 FPS) on the same conditions

Not sure what could be the cause... Do you have a difference in performance as well when using the TBM ?

I have a 7800X3D, 32Go of RAM and a 4070 with 12Go of Vram

Took a quick flight around KLAX, to find a resource intensive area. Did notice a few big FPS drops at the beginning and a slightly more 'sluggish' feel of the sim looking around inside. However, it felt like that stabilized after a few minutes and went back to my locked 90 FPS (FG).

Almost relieved to see that others are having the same issue. TBM is one of my go to aircraft in FS2020 but is completely unusable in FS2024 with frame rates down to single digits.

Ok so at least I'm not the only one. In 2020 I have no issue at all with the TBM but in 2024 it's awfull even in the middle of nowhere.

Do you also have Nvidia Graphic Card ?

The TBM is unusable, horrible fps performance on my side too.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

Yea, it seems that certain aircraft and certain add-ons can substantially decrease performance. I wonder if some of the complaints arise because people are using these -- even default aircraft -- and then reporting poor performance.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Also bad performance with the TBM for me, Bummer, it's one of my favorites.

Bad performance only on the ground ?

or in flight too ?

I'm getting 23-28 fps in airports and 30-35 fps airborne. This is also much lower than expected with moderate-high settings; some are ultra, and LODs are 150. But at least it is flyable and, more importantly, stutter-free.

It is worse on the ground but it is also very significantly below my "regular" FPS in the air.

I had poor performance with the TBM-930 also...I changed my settings to medium-high and then turned off RTX shadows. My TLOD and OLOD were set to around 100. On my system, the FPS went up to around 40 - 50 in general areas. Around KJFK, I have to turn traffic off and lower my TLOD and OLOD to very low settings...but I do get good frame rates.
