@Reset XPDR I'm using 0.4.4.0-RC1, but happened also with test 26. I get "MSFS compatibility test failed - app disabled. See readme to resolve." MSFS2020, store version. Please, do you know how to make it work? Thanks a lot.

This is the MSFS2024_AutoFPS thread, which is not my app, so I'll answer your question in the thread for my app here https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/642527-msfs-2020-auto-fps-app/

@kayjay1c6b Using latest version, whenever I open the app it defaults the Target PC FPS to 35, I have to keep changing it to 40, is there anyway this can be remembered please? thanks

Edit: Scratch that it seems to be working now, I'll check after next PC restart though just to be sure

Although I do thank the both of you ResetXPDR and KayJay, it is true that having two VERY similar apps both for 2024 is confusing. I'm using KayJay's version as I understand this is the ONLY one that will evolve and add new functions for MSFS 2024. So, I really don't know why you made yours (ResetXPDR) compatible with 2024 if it will stop evolving anyway.

You should somehow direct people to KayJay's version now for 2024, or it will continue to create confusion for people. I see YouTubers publishing several videos about the tool, but even they are confused about which one they are showing or which one they should direct people to.

Thanks again for your amazing work, because in the end, it works flawlessly for me!

I have directed people to KayJay's version at the very top of my readme. How much clearer do you want me to be than this?

Notice

Following MSFS_AutoFPS version 0.4.4.0 formal release, my development efforts on this app will be limited to maintenance of existing functionality only. If you wish to request functionality improvements for MSFS 2024, there is now an MSFS 2024 specific version of this app, based on my MSFS2020_AutoFPS version 0.4.3.1, developed by kayjay1c6b here https://github.com/kayjay1c6b/MSFS2024_AutoFPS-by-kayJay_1c6 where you should direct such requests.

I made my app 2024 compatible, not to compete with kayjay but because I primarily wanted the app to work with both sim version for self-use purposes. I also pride myself on putting together a well-tested and robust app, with detailed and up to date documentation, so I thought that those that have appreciated that in the past and liked what the app already does would like to have access to it too. There has already been over 6000 downloads of my updated app, so some users must like what I put out.

I should also mention DynamicLOD_ResetEdition users, who would have been left high and dry without 2024 support if I hadn't done the ground work on getting my AutoFPS app 2024 compatibility working and feeding those changes into an updated DynamicLOD_ResetEdition app.

It is unfortunate that kayjay chose to use a very similar naming convention to mine with his app and I believe that is what has caused much of the confusion over AutoFPS versions. Such confusion did not occur when Smooth Flight came out, which is also based on my earlier code ie. a completely different app name and icon. I have made it very clear in my documentation who made what and what MSFS compatibility each version provides. Again what more do you expect me to do to make it clearer?

In other words, you are talking to the wrong developer if you are directing this at me ...

I am very happy the original app is still available. I’m used to the interface and the way it works and get the impression that at the moment it is the more stable one. Therefore I intend to keep using this one in the foreseeable future.

While I appreciate the work of the other developer, I think he is the one that created the confusion with the similar naming and the use of the same icon. It seems unfair to me to put any blame one Reset XPDR.

How is this still confusing for people?! 😄 Resets merely supports 24 and that's it, use that if you want too, KayJays will further improve over time with 24, so it's you want btw features use that one.

You use one or the other, simple.

I would like to see more parameters to change with altitude changes. Like Grass, trees, plants, rocks. They have very annoying habbit to pop up too close for the aircraft when flying. It would be very cool feature to disable those when in 10ft altitude and enable when on ground. Because on ground, you wont see the pop ups because view is straight to forward and no elevation to see further.

This is a good idea. Are these variables (rocks/trees) that can be changed on the fly like TLOD and OLOD?

I am currently working on that, but we have to be careful so we don't have too many settings changing.

For what feels like the 100th time, let me clear up the confusion about this situation. When MSFS 2024 was released, Reset initially stated that he wouldn’t be updating his app because of the platform's immaturity at that time (you can check his post in the AutoFPS 2020 thread). If he had announced that he was planning to update the app, I would have waited.

Since I really wanted the app to work with MSFS 2024, I decided to make it compatible myself. Afterward, I thought, "Hmm, maybe others would benefit from this too?" So, I shared my work on my GitHub.

Then Reset reached out to ask how I got the app working with MSFS 2024. That’s when we started collaborating to make both of our apps functional again after the MSFS update caused issues. Reset later published his updated apps, and that brings us to where we are now.

I noticed that after latest update my app stopped working so there is a new version 1.0.3.0 that fixes the app not working after latest MSFS update to version 1.0.2.8 and hopefuly proofs it against next updates and memory map changes. https://github.com/kayjay1c6b/MSFS2024_AutoFPS-by-kayJay_1c6

Same as MSFS_AutoFPS. FG not detected

1.0.3.0 doesn't work well for me, I'm afraid - the previous versions did. Sits in the task bar, changes some LOD settings in MSFS 2024 (it turns out), but the window never pops up - so can't make any changes.
