2024 Windshield Fuzziness and Blur

You can edit your UserCfg.opt file to force windshield effects to High, change it from 1 to 2. It stays that way as long as you don't edit any of your settings and save inside the sim.

But what does this do? Does it get rid of the windshield haze or tint?

I find I'm flying tons more in 3rd person view just because the cockpit views are so over glared, reflective, tinted and blurred.

Bring on the clear glass mods please!!!!

What does it do? It creates bug splatters on your windshield. Problem is that they're always in the same spots in Free Flight, haven't flown any Career. In the X Cub, there's a huge splat right in my field of view, and it's always the first to appear. Kind of annoying. It doesn't get rid of the haze or scratches.

I've always despised sim aircraft with intentionally dirty or hazy windows.  I clean my windows in a GA plane before I fly if there's a single gnat on them, and if I owned a plane, when windows started to haze visibly at all they'd be replaced.  I dislike a dev deciding I should fly in the sim with poor quality windows because they think it'll add to my "immersion".  If the sim itself is doing this, that alone is enough to make me avoid it.  Sure hope they fix whatever this is.

When I was getting my PPL many years ago, I would walk to the rental aircraft I was flying, take a look at the windscreen, walk back to the FBO and get some cleaner and towels and clean the windscreen. I couldn't understand why other pilots flying that aircraft couldn't be bothered, and would fly with a windscreen that you could barely see out of.

Could this explain why rain effects seem to be invisible on the windshield most of the time?

No, that is a bug that resets your windshield effect to medium. If you edit the UserCfg.opt file, WindShield Quality to 2, it will stick and you'll see rain drops, what you won't see is the promised rain dissipating with wipers, on the 737 max anyway.

I do not have any windshield weather effects in 2024. I had them when the sim launched, but now I don’t get any effects in any of the default aircraft. Is anyone else having this issue?

Any Clear Glass mods available yet? This and VR Prop Mods would go handy together.

Sorry for the necromancy but i encountered this issue in one of my experimental flights with msfs 2024. Is there any way i can have a properly clear screen without that overdone white haze  Its so silly encountering this haze inside the cockpit and the outside view is crystal clear.
