  • Why must it ALWAYS become a "my way or the highway" thing whenever someone expresses their opinion? It's become boorish, tedious and a sad waste of time. If you're happy with whatever platform yo

  • At least all my add-ons work. I don't get slide shows flying into a big city like some 2024 users report, I don't have to walk around a large jet before I can fly, my airports at night don't look like

I honestly see FS2020 as visually more appealing. I know this goes against what FS2024 fans think, but on my monitor, the FS2024 clouds are permanently washed out with virtually no shading unless you

Yes, but thank goodness there are bright people like you who can tell them what's best for them. Indeed, the unwashed masses will be grateful for your insight and guidance.

The dаmn MSFS 2024 disrupted my usual 2020 flight schedule unfortunately. Curiosity makes me open the new sim, install patches, etc. Less time for normal 2020 flights.

Did anyone else have problems with 2020 today? I tried to start it several times between 10AM and 330PM (Eastern) and it would just hang forever during the initial loading screen and then CTD before the main menu appeared. I tried again at about 6:30PM, and it fired right up and ran perfectly for a Fenix A320 KSFO to KLAS flight with no issues.

I'm wondering if it had something to do with the 2024 update...

The GUI is vastly superior in Win 10 and I know some use apps to try to make 11 look and feel like the superior Win 10 interface, and I should probably look into those.  Win 11 has a couple of assets I might appreciate but ultimately if I had to pick one over the other I would choose Win 10.  I built a new box in April of this year and figured that was the time to give Win 11 a whirl.  The GUI in Win 11 is clearly trying to emulate phone and pad OS but in a full PC it's just limiting and in a word, s_t_u_p_i_d, that would be IMHO of course.  You scratch your head and wonder, why the heck did they abandon Win 10's basic GUI when it was powerful, intuitive, and trade it in for this? I guess it's kind of the same dynamic as happened w/ the 2024 release, wherein we all scratch our heads trying to come up with a probable explanation as to why it happened as it did, that is respective of server woes which they apparently miscalculated on.   I wonder if ultimately it's kind of the same as how motor vehicle collisions occur.  It's rarely one factor it's most often many things that coincide to result in the car crash, the strange migration to Win 11 GUI and the sad launch of 2024.

I believe this partly due to the fact that Gen z has entered the IT workplace, a generation brought up with extensive smartphone use.

My 2020 experience has been top notch since the weekend, zero stutters or pauses, smooth as silk and performing in the high 50 frames with traffic etc etc.

Lord be praised.

Strange.

Yesterday, my MSFS 2020 was just flat out refusing to start. Kept CTDing at random places in the startup process. I got to the Ready to Fly button one time and the sim crashed as soon as I clicked it.

Today, she's working fine like nothing was ever wrong. And it does look beautiful.
