I fear it would divide the community, who will heap derision on each other using colourful metaphors. That would be a more accurate categorization. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

December 10, 20241 yr AVSIM can have a separate forum for 2004 or Unlimited, but not msfs 2024. Laughable. MSFS

The maximum number of forums we can have has sadly been reached as it is deemed necessary to have separate forums for every iteration of Windows dating back to Windows 1.0 over in the Hardware and Software section. It's ok though, we'll just merge every future iteration of a Flight Sim into this forum. And don't dare challenge the powers to be on it, they've made up their mind and like making that very clear to anyone who asks...
December 10, 20241 yr Good afternoon everyone, since there is no specific forum for FS2020, I dare to ask, any news about the promise for the Brazil update at the end of this year? Christmas and New Year with health to all.

I believe I read on the official forums it was delayed until January but there is so much info flyting by so fast over there it is difficult to keep up and I could be completely mistaken... So people are actively reverting back to Windows 10. In the US the numbers are even more pronounced. That is outside the 400M users whose hardware is not compatible. Source: Forbes So if MSFS 2020 is the Windows 10 of Flight Sim it is by far the preferred platform with people actively going back to it... LOL Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

The GUI is vastly superior in Win 10 and I know some use apps to try to make 11 look and feel like the superior Win 10 interface, and I should probably look into those. Win 11 has a couple of assets I might appreciate but ultimately if I had to pick one over the other I would choose Win 10. I built a new box in April of this year and figured that was the time to give Win 11 a whirl. The GUI in Win 11 is clearly trying to emulate phone and pad OS but in a full PC it's just limiting and in a word, s_t_u_p_i_d, that would be IMHO of course. You scratch your head and wonder, why the heck did they abandon Win 10's basic GUI when it was powerful, intuitive, and trade it in for this? I guess it's kind of the same dynamic as happened w/ the 2024 release, wherein we all scratch our heads trying to come up with a probable explanation as to why it happened as it did, that is respective of server woes which they apparently miscalculated on. I wonder if ultimately it's kind of the same as how motor vehicle collisions occur. It's rarely one factor it's most often many things that coincide to result in the car crash, the strange migration to Win 11 GUI and the sad launch of 2024. I agree, tried 11 several times and using that stupid GUI in 11 made my hair hurt. I am going to hang onto 10 as long as I can.
