It seemed like I was going nowhere. Occasionally I would get a good high, but that was few and far between. Between tweaking and troubleshooting, I just wasn't getting enough. I tried a few others, AeroflyFS (smoooooth😐), DCS (too violent, felt like everyone was after me), and Flight Sim World (too basic, unfinished, out-dated), nothing seemed to satisfy me anymore. Where do I go from here? Is there no way to reach an ultimate "High"? Have I reached the end of the road? What seemed like an eternity on FSX/P3D/XPlane, and feeling like I was losing control was wasting my life away. Gone were the days of going to the beach, watching movies at the local theater, or dining at a fancy restaurant with family. But, I didn't care. I just wanted my highs. Then one day, the All Mighty must have been looking down on me! My prayers were answered! Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!!! I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Stunning graphics, "Real" airplanes, even a new helicopter! Everything I could ever ask for!😲 I dabbled with this a few years, but soon fell into the same old trap, constant tweaking, too much troubleshooting, especially after those "updates", and soon I was looking for more. But, I wasn't going to let this one get the best of me. I was getting my high, I was using it every day, without much fuss, and I found myself content for the first time in decades. It cost me way too much though, my ex, my family, all those missed opportunities to enjoy life, gone. And for what?! All the money I spent trying to get that "ultimate high" could have been used to buy a new car, or take the family out camping, or even a new house. (at least I had the world right on my PC😇) That's when I sought out therapy. I knew I had gone too far. I knew I had spent way too much time and money on my addiction, yes, I admit, ADDICTION! I needed to get a life!  The first several months seemed to to really drag. I can't believe I'm doing this. Where is it going to lead me? Do I really need to do this? But, I was committed. It was all going pretty well...........until..........wait!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! This is what I've been waiting for!!!!!!! Out of this world graphics!!!! Study level aircraft!!!! Walk around mode!!! What more could I ever ask for???!!!!!!

No one that is a flight sim addict can say 2024 is good. The addiction for me with that version was over in two days. Did Jorg pay you for addict confession?

I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone as to if 2024 is good, especially here in these forums.🥴 Each person here has a different experience with it, some good, some bad, some outstanding, some horrific. My addiction includes 2024, and will include anything else that comes down the line, good or bad, anything to feed my addiction. I have to try them all!!! I know I need help. By coming out as an addict, I'm simply reaching out for help. I don't know what else to do. I'm at the end of the rope here.😱

I'm not trolling, just trying to bring a little humor to the forums. I see so much arguing and complaining in the forums (not just at Avsim, but elsewhere too), even on this topic. I just wanted to make it sound fun while still sharing some of my experiences with all of the different sims I've tried (I think I might have forgotten to mention a few).

Some people on this forum have the sense of humor of a concrete block, don't let it bother you. 😉

I can also understand how one might get addicted to the whole generous humor part of FS. It's so well done.
