Yes I figured! This thread is another useless trash of transient drama queen 😞

Oh, look, it's the daily "I hate MSFS 2024" thread!

Why do people write the posts and not mention what rig they have or their broadband connection or what settings they've chosen in the sim? it's quite important and would add a bit of weight to their post.

I'm having relatively few issues with 2024 but then I have a decent rig and BB connection and I'#ve not chosen Ultra for everything. if the OP is running on a anything remotely like the minimum spec and still using dialup then they're not going to have a great time. Merry Christmas!

I think maybe the tolerance to bugs varies greatly between people, rather than not having a different experience.

Ok. There is a reason why people need to add 2024 to their title of their posts so we know which simulator they're talking about.

Initially I thought it fine to tag 2024 posts, but as so many are not doing you end up having to read every thread.  I would love the forum to split now.

OK so he bought 2024, didn't spend any time trying to figure out what could be wrong on his end. It could have been connection speed, hardware, graphic settings and etc.

This.

Very much this and whilst there undoubtedly are a whole bucketful of bugs I do find reports of long loading times….odd. I have bog standard BT 60mbs broadband, nothing special and loading times are far superior to 2020.

Overall the performance of the sim is much superior compared to 2020 too. I wonder how many people actually make use of all the graphics sliders we’re offered or simply click on ‘ultra’ or perhaps use that Nvidia nonsense that offers to ‘optimise’ your game and then proceeds to do anything but that?

I did a flight yesterday afternoon from KTUS to KDFW in the IniBuilds A321N and it was excellent in all regards. I have flown this route many times in 2020, and I am very familiar with the terrain. The 2024 imagery is definitely better, without obvious “seams” where adjacent satellite tiles join.

Weather was clear for the first part of the trip, but real-time NEXRAD imagery showed a large area of rain and thunderstorms northeast of Dallas, and I began to encounter it in descent. It was the best cloud depiction I have ever seen in MSFS. At one point, I could see 6 discrete cloud layers, and buildups extending far above my aircraft altitude. It certainly looked like genuine embedded cumulonimbus to me. It all showed well on the Airbus weather radar too.

One thing I have noticed is that 2024 works my GPU (3080Ti) very hard - especially when there are a lot of clouds. GPU load was generally between 85 to 100 percent most of the time. VRAM use was well-managed. It remained between 75 and 85 percent.

I use VSync at 50% monitor refresh rate, which gives 30 fps, and that remained steady throughout the flight.

Aircraft performance was excellent. VNAV hit all descent speed and altitude constrains on the SOCKK4 arrival and ILS 35C approach perfectly.

”Mongo impressed”!

I use “high” for everything on my 3080Ti - no “ultra”. I made the mistake of installing the NVidia app the last time I did a driver update, which would have set everything in MSFS to “ultra”. I uninstalled it immediately.

plenty updates to come to get this software near right, again YMMV, if it works good for you, wonderful.

You might consider that "if it works good for [us]", perhaps the software itself isn't the issue...?

I've been running it since Day 3 post-release and have very few issues. The only thing i'm avoiding is Careers / Missions...
