DLSS 4 DLL's

It’s the driver that’s releasing on the 30th along with the 5000 series cards.

Nvidia 571.96 driver is publicly available.

All you need to do is download Nvidia CUDA Toolkit , choose Custom (Advanced) installation option and install only the driver itself.

Since this driver is accessible to everyone, there's no question of any early access.

Driver includes Nvidia DLSSv3 3.8.10.0.

edit

It's worth noting that driver INF file does not mention any graphics cards from the 5000 series, which means this driver is not intended for the new generation of NVIDIA GPUs.

Oh my, the ground textures are massively improved!  Couple of videos below, both using SU1 Beta, DLSS 4 Quality & DLAA.  Those who like a sharp image - get now! First is south East of San Die

  • Thanks to all for their valuable input. Just did another flight MSFS2024 1.2.11.0 with good result. Strangely, I have the feeling my GPU is less stress but the visual quality is very good, with MSFS S

  • Today’s DLSS4 video from IslandSimPilot: Only a few hours left to install the pre-release stuff until everything goes live tomorrow 😊 He recommends disabling the auto-optimize opti

Yes exactly. You can’t simply download the driver as one normally does - you need to download CUDA and do this.

It is public, but it’s not released via the usual driver update channels, is all.

And there’s a new driver version coming with the new cards in a few days and we will all update to that as normal and this whole thing will no longer be needed.

Sure, I’m only vaguely following this myself so am probably wrong about a bunch of things.

It’s just a few more days so while I have done the DLSS upgrade, I’ll just wait for the full driver whenever it arrives.

On the 30th, will the new driver over-write the two DLSS .dll files I just installed to XBoxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content?

I'm assuming NO but just want to be sure.   I'm assuming the /Content folder is one that only gets touched by a MSFS2024 update and NOT an nvidia driver install.

It's better to wait 4 days for the new driver rather than installing driver 571.96. I don't understand why Youtuber Islandsimpilot called this driver "early access" and mentioned DLSS 4 as it's not early access and the driver actually includes DLSSv3 3.8.10.0.

Yeah I personally am waiting as well.

Nvidia DLSS4 driver? Early access?

Ah saw you on MSFS forums 🙂

If you install the new BETA sim update in 2024: Better images. about the same performance, maybe slightly better.

Next install the 3.10.1 dllls and select the J option. Now you have even better images but worse performance.

Next install the new Nvidia Display Driver 571.96. Now you still have the best images but much better performance. This is as good as it gets.

571.96 is installed by selecting only one option in the new Nvidia CUDA package. You won't get CUDA but that's OK, all you need is the 571.96 Nvidia display driver. Uncheck all boxes in CUDA installer except the display driver (which is 571.96).

Bit of a niche question, but what kind of fps difference do you see between DLAA and Quality AA settings with 571.96?

I'll have to boot up 2024 again to dry DLAA. The 571.96 added about 30% more fps in DLSS (balanced). A big increase. The guys on the official forum are saying similar. Near certain airports I can't run more than balanced, even though in the air I might get 80+fps, near airports it can drop to 27 or such with balanced and stutter briefly for a second or two while taxing. With the old display driver it was a lot worse.

571.96 is just a typical Nvidia display driver install, nothing tricky, easy to reverse if needed.
