DLSS 4 DLL's

no, you only have the DLSS4 super resolution DLL, you obviously have not installed the FrameGen DLL of DLLS4, there are 3 new DLLs all version 310.1.0.0, as mentioned further above in this thread and the download links in the Islandsim youtubes.

But we actually need only two of these 3 dll files, correct? (as per Islandsim video).

You need to enable the option with DLSS Tweaks... then you can set it to what ever you want... i have my super quality at 0.95 and going down form there...

I may have to look into this tonight then. It's good to know.

This should be it - I think it only goes in one folder in Steam edition

According to the registry, this is what shows up...

DLSSv3 - V310.1.0

But in DLSS Swapper (new version), I don't see V310.1.0 in the "DLSS Rey Reconstruction"  Do I need this option?

That looks good. You don't need the ray recontruction version - it's not used by MSFS.

As mentioned earlier, it's also possible to use GPU-Z to check which DLSS versions are active. That's the method I use.

7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I will add a little more to the confusion. I am using a 4090 with native (real) gsync monitors and DLSS+DLAA with driver 566.36 and new DLSS4 dll's.

I have the best quality and super smooth still with preset F and not with J. The last preset is giving me a blurrier G1000.

Beta of the Nvidia App has been released

https://us.download.nvidia.com/nvapp/client/11.0.2.308/NVIDIA_app_beta_v11.0.2.308.exe

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/software/nvidia-app/release-highlights/

Not sure if that contains the new DLSS override method

EDIT: Okay false alarm, seems DLSS-swap still isn't enabled. Gotta wait until the 30th. My bad.

I have a couple of questions:

I Have installed DLSS 4 using the DLSS Swapper. I have used Nvidia Profile Inspector to set the mode to 'J'. I have done the regedit change to display the DLSS info on the bottom of the screen. However, When MSFS gets almost to the end of coming up, it crashes. And I never see any watermark on the lower left of the screen while its coming up.

I changed the mode to J in the global settings of Profile Inspector and not in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 section. Is that correct?

Any ideas on why the simulator won't come all the way up. This is new since playing around with the DLSS 4 stuff. There were no crashes prior to that.

Also, how do you get that display in the post above mine to display? Where is that display coming from?

I know I can back everything out but I would much rather figure out what's going on so I can try DLSS 4 in VR.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) only after MSFS is running, not while getting ready to crash 😃

2) did you watch the IslandSim youtube? YES. he explained this explicitly.

3) removed everything from COMMUNITY?

4) DLSS swapper utility v1.1.1 preferably the portable version, requires no installation, double click on the desired game and it will show this:

3.7.20 and Preset F with scaling 0.85x in NV Inspector

I spent a chunk of time testing the new DLSS4 in MSFS2020 this past weekend and the above option is SIGNIFICANTLY better on MY system. I went back to 3.7.2.0. With my 4K monitor running G-Sync and the 0.85 scaling, Sim DLSS set to High Quality, DLSS4 at Quality setting is comparatively downright awful. DLSS4 gives 30% more FPS yes, but terrible ghosting in the bottom forward corner of side windows (C172) and in trees over forested areas.

I will give it another shot when the official release comes out but I am saving my 3.7.20 files and for now, I am not remotely impressed with DLSS4. Very surprised how different my opinion is to the majority here but it is what it is. 🙂

You are missing the greatest of all: 571.96 (it increases fps a ton).
