February 8, 20251 yr I flew with iFly's MAX yesterday and I didn't like the result. I found the speedtape tolerable but the fonts on the screens were all blurry. 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024
February 8, 20251 yr Yeah the blurry glass cockpit images are too much for my eyes as well. Back to TAA. Hopefully between Asobo and NVIDIA they can improve the image of the glass screens Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

February 8, 20251 yr 28 pages later... going back to the roots. Driver, my own settings in NCP, FG in sim active, vsync active and TAA, best experience I had in MSFS2024. I don't know why I bother tweaking, at all.

Hopefully between Asobo and NVIDIA they can improve the image of the glass screens So I will be the first to admit my eyes are not what they used to, I don't know what medication I'm taking without my glasses LOL but it genuinely looks pretty darn crisp and is running at 120 rendered FPS after Lossless Scaling at X2 but this is DLSS4 with Lossless scaling on a 4090 and 5K screen. I am also trying to film on a phone and zoom in but it's still pretty crisp to my aging eyes. This is nothing like what it looked like pre DLSS4... Whilst not perfect - I'll admit thats not too bad and is less glass display ghosting than I get with DLSS4. Unfortunately that's not my experience on a 48" 4K OLED which is still pretty bad. I'm quietly hopeful that when Asobo release SU2 and officially support DLSS4 there is some improvement. Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
February 8, 20251 yr I have to ask - why DLSS4 Quality, and not TAA? What is the benefit? I can have FG with both, DLSS4 provides less sharp image (everything is visibly blurrier), still ghosting and just marginally higher fps (talking about 93fps with DLSSv4 vs 91fps with TAA). Am I missing something? Confirmed latest DLL 310.2.1.0 Preset K active in the sim. Edited February 8, 20251 yr by Simon_C

TAA is a fixed AA DLSS is an AI technology to downsize then upscale the image allowing for better performance and increased detail. In some games DLSS is also the best looking option, not necessarily in FS DLAA would be the comparison to TAA. This is also fixed and very similar to DLSS but without the downscaling/upscaling Now there are different DLSS "modes" which in Nvidia's terms determine how much the image is downscaled before rendering Quality I believe is a 33% downscale, Low is a 66% reduction and Ultra is essentially the equivalent of DLAA because it is not downscaling the image. So this now questions Asobo's implementation at least within 2020. You can enable DLSS with DLAA as your Super Resolution. According to Nvidia this isn't how it works and it is either DLSS or DLAA not both. I actually think this is why people are seeing such varied results. 1. It depends what DLSS setting you are using, low, quality or Ultra and my understanding is if you are using DLAA which I am then you are not downsizing the screen at all. Hence why in my case I think Lossless Frame Generation still helps for the FG as I am running in 5K at Ultra with DLAA enabled which means I "shouldn't" be downscaling my iamge. DLSS- Best performance and supposed to be Best image quality DLAA- Benefits of DLSS without the downscaling, Best image Quality TAA- Lower level of AA than DLAA, lower IQ So if you don't want DLSS, run DLAA...
