Do you have the nVidia app installed? Sometimes it does this, I removed it. I find it useless anyway. I removed the Nvidia app as it was causing crashes on my system. I stopped using the NVidia inspector too. My DLSS workflow at the moment is... 1. DLSS Swapper to install latest DLSS files 2. February 26, 20251 yr I'm another who found the Nvidia app more trouble than it was worth. Now back to G Force Experience and Nvidia Profile Inspector which have caused no issues whatsoever. The only odd thing is that since using dlsss4, the nvidia cache does bot seem to grow beyond 4gb whatever I set it at in control panel and inspector. Odd because nobody else seems to be reporting this. February 28, 20251 yr I'm sorry guys but I've scanned enough of these threads to ask the obvious question that I can't seem to find a clear answer for: It's clear that everyone across the sim world thinks that DLSS4 is something wonderful. It's clear that NVIDIA benefits from any positive light thrown on their products from the goodness DLSS4 provides. So............. Why was it introduced in such a ridiculously clumsy way with influencers "hacking driver installs" to get it to work? Shouldn't it just be a simple bit switch to use DLSS 4? Why all the do this/that, then go here and do this, then try this here and change this parameter if XYZ is this, etc... Is it ok to assume that at some point at time t, DLSS4 will be just an intrinsic part of the latest driver set? Shouldn't there just be an Nvidia memo for which of their cards can perform what functions? For instance... If you have a 4090 or 5090, just install driver XYZ and bingo, you have it? I'm super focused in image quality and I found in 2020 DLSS4 + DLAA mostly just offered better frame rate (by reducing GPU load). But there is a cost for that and the presets being recommended, primary K which I've used, hardly impacts that cost, which has to do with smearing/ghosting of glass cockpit characters. Turns out there was zero appreciable difference between preset K and preset C which I believe is default when you have DLSS4 installed but did not use Inspector or other to enable preset K. I need the extra overhead in 2020 so do use DLSS4 + DLAA there. In 2024 now I'm back to using TAA which eliminates the ghosting/smearing issue. Also, TAA improves cloud quality in 2024 for me as it loses any hint of the voxel grid which can become visible with DLAA +DLAA under certain lighting conditions.
