March 8, 20251 yr I love them and wouldn’t fly without them. I have a powerful system though so of course that matters. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
March 8, 20251 yr Are raytraced shadows only relevant for depicting things in the cockpit? Or is it something applied to external scenery (clouds, airports, terrain) as well? Edited March 8, 20251 yr by prolixindec
March 8, 20251 yr On/off, I really can't see a difference. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

March 8, 20251 yr It is the main culprit on the VRAM BUG. Thus, I have had to turn it off. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

March 8, 20251 yr Whether or not it’s actually tied to the VRAM bug I’m nit sure, but either way it consumes a lot of VRAM and pushes me over the limit if I use it. March 8, 20251 yr Wow, on my system, Shadow Raytracing is worth about 10-15 fps and about 0.5 GB of GPU memory. I can see little to no difference in the cockpit image, even with default shadow detail. March 8, 20251 yr Author Shadows are great without it and I do like the slight shimmer sometimes that seems like the plane is vibrating. dd
March 8, 20251 yr Cockpit shadows are way better with raytracing. Interestingly with my 7900xt it isn't hard on fps, so I can leave it on.
