I wonder whether anyone has hooked up a short throw projector and tried flight simming with it.

In the cockpit-builders forums scattered here and there, the consensus seems to be that monitors are better.

Is this guy unclear on the concept or is it me?

Aren't curved wide screen monitors designed to take advantage of the eye having greater peripheral vision on the horizontal axis?  Won't he put more strain on his neck over time by having to physically move his head to look up?

added "curved"

Maybe not 3, but one ARK should be fine

AMD 9950X3D, Nvidia 5080, custom-made liquid-cooled OEM

Virpl throttle, Control panel, and Collective Gufighter flightstick

I think the first part of the OPs title says it well.

Yes they have and it looks way better than three screens with the borders breaking the image!

Flight Simmer since 1983 - loving the brilliant Quality Wings 787 and all PMDG models!!

How about 3 152" monitors with bezel refraction.

Reminds me of when, here in Porta Land - the Western entry of Greatzzz Europe ! - around 1972 my father took me to the cinema to watch a 70 mm Cinemascope film - Ben-Hur !!!

Well, probably the worst cinema session I had in my life because we couldn't buy tickets other than in the 3rd line of seats ( don't know how to correctly put it in English... ) and I got sick after a while having to look across the screen, and having difficulties focusing the images in my brain :-)

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Why not? If you can afford it and it gives you pleasure, go for it!

I almost failed my 4th grade history final. I wrote that Spain is the part of Atlantis which did not fall into the sea. The correct answer was Portugal.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I guess most North Americans don't even know Portugal exists as a nation 🙂
