If you didn't upgrade to the $59 version, you most likely don't have it. Checked! I was on "EarlyAccess", not "Experimental", but I've now changed it to "Experimental" and will see 🙂 Thanks Bob 👍 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Especially when it decides to vector 99% of my approaches but the vectors pretty much follow the STAR anyway so seems kind of silly. The times it does vector when it makes sense, you're right, it's late at times and puts me at very wide angles to localiser captures where I end up just busting the localiser capture. Look forward to seeing them improve this. That is the only gripe I have about BATC, You could be on an almost straight-in approach to an airport, with an ILS or RNav to the runway, and it will start giving me these weird vectors away from the straight line. I just give those a big IGNORE, and just fly whatever approach seems the most straightforward. BATC almost never complains and always just clears me to land when I get close to the airport.
March 22, 20251 yr Just use Psxt and buy a reel licens for live traffic. The only thing that works. I have used all three caotic ATC programs. Non works. With PSXT the traffic flies in sim as in real life. No ATC so go for live ATC instead

There’s no ATC or programs that control the injected traffic. Not to mention it’s $11 per month. Don’t really get the point if I can’t interact with the traffic.

Cheez $11 a month of this, $17 a month for that, pretty soon I'll need another part time job to afford this hobby. 😉

I just don’t see why I’d pay $11 p/m to have… traffic mucking about the place but totally unaware of my existence and don’t act in accordance to that.
March 23, 20251 yr Commercial Member I love BATC but only use it when I know I'm not going to be flying into a mountainous area. Being vectored off my STAR into a mountain near LOWI in the dark after a three hour flight was amusing but at the same time, not something I wish to repeat every flight 😅 Developer of Self-Loading Cargo - The Cabin Crew and Passenger Simulation Addon for MSFS, X-Plane, P3D and FSX
March 23, 20251 yr I have a question for the smart people in the room. When BATC is vectoring you into the mountains, who is PIC? MSFS
March 23, 20251 yr Commercial Member Snarkiness aside I know what you're saying but it's still a limitation of the lack of terrain awareness from the ATC. A controller on VATSIM for instance wouldn't vector your aircraft into a mountain as they'd be aware of minimum safe altitudes at your current location and in X miles on your assigned heading, but BATC doesn't seem to know about it yet. Ideally BATC wouldn't deviate from the STAR at all, but it does and sometimes there are consequences to blindly following its instructions. My point is that there's a certain level of not being able to fully trust the ATC yet in hazardous areas. Sure, but being cleared direct is something ATC can do and of course you don't have to comply, but the point is in the real world ATC wouldn't even do it if it would put you in conflict with a large hill whereas BATC seems to have no problem with it whatsoever. March 23, 20251 yr One thing I like with SI is I can override the call sign database. For example, the old USAir (USA) call sign. BATC thinks it's Silk Airways. But flying the Fokker it should be USAIR (Not, Cactus btw). It's limited to storing 3 overrides, but it's nice to have.

For a couple of hundred dollars a year, that's not enough for me, that's for sure.
