Find the differences: Ifly 738 Max vs. real life.

Featured Replies

I verified these modeling issue more times in FS20, the Ifly B738max has the windscreeen/fuselage transition too steep, it seems that it has a sort of "eyebrows". The PMDG 737 doesn't have this modeling issue.

  • I noticed a couple of rivets on my PMDG 737 don't look symmetrical. Should I ask for a refund, and BTW I sort my paper clips by atomic weight. 😉

I feel this Thread is a little bit "reach over the top" Thread. Just why?

  • It actually just looks like the angle of the shadow on the pilot side, the copilot side looks identical to the real pic. If you have an issue with the iFly modelling I would post it on their disc

If you have an issue with the iFly modelling I would post it on their discord, posting it here isn't going to get anything fixed (if there is anything that needs to be fixed)

I posted the same question on the Ifly discord before, I want just compare different opinions. In the Ifly 737 the copilot side too is not well shaded/connected with the fuselage.

Your "little bit reach over the top", is your point of view, but the issue is there. I care of modeling and the attention to the detail.

The real life has tape over the windows anyway.

They look identical.  Lol.

But it doesn't actually look like an issue.  If you look at the RW photo the left side is more defined and looks much more pronounced than the right due to the lighting.  In the MSFS image it is reversed.

I think it is more a lighting issue that you are seeing than modelling issue but if this is what you have time to find as modelling errors they have done a pretty darn good job LOL

Seems like the general consensus isn't going to agree with you on this one if you are looking for opinions.

It's like the Miss Universe contest, I find several differences between the last two winners, but both are equally beautiful.

I asked ChatGPT about the two photographs. You are right, apparently the sim version is 0.000001mm out of whack.

The two images posted are also at different angles (as per observed position of the rudder surfaces) and not fully head on which could also mean the lighting/shadows in the image does contain some bias as to how various angles are viewed.

So I would say its not conclusive just by these looking at these 2 images alone.

The OP can describe their observations over at the iFly Discord by all means, but I am not sure iFly will prioritise this (if there is a proven difference?) over many other defects and enhancements that are already in the queue for the Max.

For me personally, there are "bigger fish to fry".

Good for you but I spend my time in the cockpit where I should be as a make pretend pilot. So what you care for is in no relevance to me in what is important. You care or expect 100% for accurate modeling 1:1 to the real world? good luck with that but I just don't think warranting a thread about it made much sense.

I agree with you, it is a very low priority issue, let's go to fry bigger fishes.

I'm not sure I understand the issue...logically, installing a flat windscreen into a tubular shape can only cause a distortion of the curved aluminum hull (to correctly mate with the flat windscreen panels). Am I missing something?

yes, the connection between the flat windscreen and the hull is "edgy" in the Ifly 737max, that's it. Take your Ifly 738max start it on a gate and spend few minutes to verify the (little) issue. Generally, it's more evident when the light is lateral or in a higher backlight.
