Long story short, they look less than great.  Is this the norm?  I would like to fly under them, but it looks like they are solid.  Here's an example from Cleveland, OH.

They are solid in all photogrammetry areas unless replaced with custom models. Needless to say that the large majority of bridges are like that...

Another classic example of why I have PG disabled.

I live very close to NYC and it’s an immersion breaker to see the famous bridges in the area turn into, basically, buildings on water. Would love if their AI program that does PG was updated. 

Yeah, seems this issue just carried over from 2020. I feel like half the time buidling/trees look melted or the bridges do this. Or it looks amazing. Not too worried about it but if you fly really low and really slow....I could see this being a bother. Especially with helis. Not sure.....is there any mention of a fix?

I believe all bridges has to be custom made! While I agree with sentiment about them, bridges are very low priority comparing with other issues 2024 has.

This! You’ve described it, this is what I was trying to describe the other today. I likened MSFS24 to an watercolour painting.

and yes like a watercolour painting is about it, I'm amazed that it has had next to zero mention as its really apparent to me and not at all realistic

I have been of the same opinion for a while. Its kinda like a fake cartoon world? It's hard to describe... Watercolour painting is the best I can come up with. 

First - the bridges. Yep, it's a real PITA but you can get resolutions for some locations. the RKBridger products are all pretty good, and can transform the area they appy to. And nope, we shouldn't have to buy stuff like this to correct these issues but them's the choices - turn PG off, buy the fixes, or live with it.

Second, the whole washed out watercolour thing. I'm not going to argue with anybody about what they feel about what they see, I can only speak for myself and on my system the visuals (lighting, colours, atmosphere etc) are beyond stunning. There are two forces at play here that really aren't necessarily anything to do with the sim - individual perception and preference, and technical setup. Having a capable monitor and having it properly set up makes a big difference, along with all the appropriate sim/windows settings. And again, I'm not intending to imply anyone is doing anything "wrong" here, but I see some of the posts here (not just in this thread but around 2024 generally) and I truly don't understand it. And I have a fairly wide range of stuff going on here, in that my sim pc is running 4k HDR as per my sig below and it is visually mind-blowing. My non-simp pc also runs 4k, but on a smaller (38 inch) non HDR monitor, and I have a spare/backup/secondary pc running a copy of the sim using a curved widescreen which I think is something like 3800 x 1400 or thereabouts.

All three displays have different colour casts and brightness levels, and I'm not running the sim at all on my general desktop machine, but not one of those screens shows any form of washed out effect with anything, and like I say, both 2020 and 2024 even more so just look stunning. I have colour profiles in place for all my monitors - nothing fancy, just the files supplied by the monitor manufactures, so maybe that helps. And I know there's nothing weird going on with my vision because I had both eyes corrected (cataracts) a couple of years back and now have, apparently, the quality of eyesight of a 20 year old.

Like I say, not having a pop at anyone (least of all you, Ian, as I know you're very technically savvy), but just amazed whenever I hear people describe 2024 as anything less than wonderful, visually.

Lots of other aspects where it's a pile of steaming [expletive deleted by mod], but visually?

I have a love hate relationship with PG hehe....  this is definitely annoying - was hoping they'd address it for 24.  But no such luck.  I sometimes run without PG as well.  What I do recommend though is SamScene cities packs - they really add to a city skyline!

Me too...when PG is good, it's very very good.  But when PG is bad, it's very, very bad.   

I use the rkbridger sceneries, they work pretty well.  I think they have one for Minneapolis/St. Paul now.  I often use the one for Missouri / St. Louis and I also have the St. Louis-to-Gulf one.   It has a couple of my local bridges on it, even the Grand Tower Pipeline bridge...look that one up...it surprised me that he made that one.   It's not even a road or railroad bridge.
