RayTraced Shadows Pt II

Featured Replies

With SU2 and AMD FSR3 I'm getting 170fps in the cockpit so have a few frames to spare.  A perfect reason to enable RayTraced Shadows.

They eat about 7 fps but I like them.

  • It certainly should be. I have a 4060TI also with 8GB and I constantly hit the roof of the VRAM.  So Raytracing Shadows are out of the question for me.

  • What GPU?  For me the issue has been more about VRAM than FPS.

I truly think some of the posts regarding vram usage being nil and performance being great are utter BS.    Or extremely misleading at best.

What GPU?  For me the issue has been more about VRAM than FPS.

VRAM is not a factor on a 8gb 3060ti @67%

Vram is up to 69%. I'm flying the aerosoar HJET from CYEG to PAKT.  Everything is marvelous.

The aerosoar HJET paint is one of the greats

Sitting at a large payware airport, Fenix, full of AI, my VRAM can be up to 10.5Gb (4090)

KDEN is not bad but I get it.  You can do almost anything with your LOD at 100.

At what 720p resolution?
At 4k at a large airport in the fenix and GSX I am usually around 16-18gb VRAM usage on my 4090.

The raytraced shadows really are wonderful. With my 7900xt the fps don't suffer at all and VRAM is of course no problem.

Thanks for the misleading post. What resolution are you using? TLOD?

That's a nice GPU with 20GB of VRAM. I wish the 9070 GPU's came with that instead of 16GB.

6144 FTW.
