My OCD has just gone into overdrive...

Featured Replies

I decided to try a departure and landing at the default EGHR Chichester Goodwood in my PMDG 737-600 (just to see how it handled it)....

BIG MISTAKE

Not because of the performance on that grass runway. It was the view that my unfortunate eyes had to witness when on final approach to runway 32.

I fear that I will never be able to unsee the zombie horde of rogue autogen houses that have infested the covered crops that are being grown in those fields. This is exactly the kind of thing that makes my OCD spiral out of control, and kills immersion stone dead 🤦‍♂️ If anyone has the antidote for this hammer house of horrors, then please give me a double dose quickly!!

So let me get this straight your flying a 737 into a grass strip but your immersion is broken not by that but by the fact that the AI is trying to find a correct building biased off a photo that leave

Go and get yourself a copy of Mamudesigns Solarfarms and gone is this misery, replaced by proper solar farms. But be aware, I did not verify it myself, it is just an assumption because those autogen buildings are on solar farms, no? Looks like houses in the satellite picture, not completely non-understandable why the AI places buildings over there to be honest...

Greetings, Chris

Those are agricultural fields with multiple structures that are called "polytunnels" which protect berries of all kinds that are being grown. Whilst this problem does affect solar farms in certain locations (short of the runway 08 threshold at EGHH Bournemouth comes to mind), it is nowhere near as bad as this.

PG doesn’t make it any better unless you like wall bridges and overpasses … shame Asobo don’t have a team in place fixing all the issues server side …  but these default issues are a big win for third party content providers.  So much for the dream of buying a sim and not needing content fixes.

I was just comparing P3D5.4 road traffic density vs MSFS road traffic density and P3D has about 11X more traffic and on many more roads.

EDIT: Orbx having a great sale right ✌️

These arnt server side issues.  Its impossible to make sure every inch of the world has the correct buildings.  They made the decision to use AI to scan the images and select realistic buildings.  It works 99% of the time really well.  Are there issues for random specific spots (like these farms which have building like structures on them to prevent animals from getting to the berries).   If there is actually that much demand to go in a correct these issues in rural UK then a 3rd party can come and do it.  Otherwise its a waste of resources.

Oh that is a particularly nasty one.

I have downloaded the SDK to see if I can find a way of removing these autogen buildings myself, but I cannot find a clear step by step tutorial video to help me start the process

I don't think the Orbx Uk sceneries have that issue.
